Jagr, who assisted on Brian Leetch's first-period goal that opened the scoring, had experienced tenderness prior to the All-Star break. Indeed, No. 68 had considered skipping last weekend's festivities
I thought it was pretty well understood that Jagr was coming here to carry this team to the playoffs. If he had ANY indication that the groin needed rest, participating in All Star weeked is absolutely unforgiveable. Of course, that's the price you pay for dealing in damaged goods. You'd think the guy who dealt for Lindros and Bure would have thought of that.

Wasn't it an All-Star game incident where Richter's skate contacted the post and he missed the rest of the season with a knee injury?

Richter played on a damaged knee after the All-Star game in 2000 until the Rangers were eliminated from the playoffs.
