Avery and Jagr will get signed.............I would like them to steal Malone and Orpik from Pitts .........I always won't be surprised to see a Vyborny brought in for a good price to play with Jags and Dubi

That would leave.........if it fits under the cap

Vyborny Dubinsky Jagr
Avery Gomez Malone
Dawes, Drury, Callahan
Sjostrom, Betts, Moore, Byers, Orr

Deal Hollweg, Prucha, Backman for a Dman to play the PP...........

Staal, Orpik
Tyutin, Girardi
Trade, Potter,Sanguinetti

Lundqvist, Vali or Liv or Wikman

No way on Vyborny, and Malone isn't the sniper that Gomez needs on his wing. The only reason Malone appears to be a decent hockey player is because he was on Crosby's wing. Gomez needs a true goal-scorer, not some grind-it-out guy.

Actually Malone was hardly ever on Crosby's wing. He only played with Malkin for a large amount of this season.

Also, I believe Vyborny signed with a team in Europe or Russia.

LMAO. I googled him because I know he's an UFA and wanted to know if he had re-signed with NYR and this popped up. I was so sad when he was traded away. I even started following LA a little bit because of him. I guess whatever floats his boat. I wonder if Marty B. will buy his clothes?

Oh, and Zetterberg does have his own line, but I think it's a little bit different than what Sean's doing.

Last week, the New York Post Sunday magazine had a picture of Sean Avery and Kelly Klein(ex-wife of Calvin Klein)sitting next to each other at some fashion charity event at Lincoln Center.

Sean gets around for a guy with a bad spleen.

Avery's life is in New York.If he leaves for an extra $500,000-$1 million per and ends up being miserable playing in any city besides Manhattan,Avery is a fool.

Is Avery going to help run the company from San Jose?

Sounds like someone who is trying to have a little bit of fun, and able to use his money to do so.

Avery should get no more than 2.5 mill., the guy is great against slower tougher teams, but disapears against the faster more skilled teams that pay no attention to him (Buffalo 2 years ago, Pitts. this year) If avery doesn't like it he can go to a city like Buffalo or Calgary for 3.5 mil. where there is no night life and snuggle in bed with some Irish coffee after a game.

Vyborny signed long term contrat with Sparta Prague and won't play in NHL anymore.

This threaed is about as silly as it gets.

goofy.

The guy designs clothing in his spare time. He creates designs in his head and then draws them up.

You know how many hockey players have hobbies or other business interests outside the game? A whole lot of them.

Nothing but sillieness.

Reminds me of JR trying to be a movie star. It just seems wrong for a hockey player to be so into what I would consider girl stuff. Just my opinion though. He strikes me as such a diva.

Most hockey players try to have some fashion sense whether they admit it or not. The Caps after practice looked like ads from GQ.

While I'm not his biggest fan, if that's what he wants to do, good for him.But I would be worried as a Ranger fan if he resigns. Post-contract year, new business, a possible loss of locker room leadership. He could get distracted.

Just a quick question for everybody..

Since Avery became a Rangers player has anybody ever seen him mail in a shift let alone a game? The guy has other interests BIG DEAL...It's not going to interfere with anything. Avery brings an A+ effort everytime he is on the ice. Frankly I admire his energy level because to do what he does every game can't be easy on the body.

If you took a survey of active hockey players I would guess that a large percentage have business’s that they own a piece of.

Just wondering, has anyone started a business before that thinks he's going to be raking in the cash right away? Very rarely do you break even right out of the gate.

Other than effecting SA’s decision to take a little less to stay in NYC this shouldn’t be brought up in any negotiations.

If Avery wants to continue building his image as a fashionable socialite off the ice, he's not going to be able to do so in any city that's not new york or LA. You don't get articles written about you in new york magazine when you live in columbus. Avery's image depends on him living in a big, media and fashion-rich city.

I think this clothing line will help sign him cheaper. Avery' made too many friends in this city to leave.

I believe he will re-sign for as much as Sather offers.
If not, he goes to the Isles or the ducks.

If he re-signs, I'm not worried about his hockey work ethic. You don't get to the nhl without a work ethic unless you're a natural goal scorer or a straight-up goon and avery is neither. If Avery wasn't passionate about what he's doing Brodeur would have shook his hand.

Has Avery ever played a game in a Rangers uniform that wasn't during a contract year? Something to think about.

I've thought about it and I don't think the contract year(s) is an issue. If Sean Avery didn't play like this since junior hockey you'd have a good point but I think what you see with Avery is what you get.

I think if the Rangers do resign Avery he won't be on the Rangers when the contract runs out.
