OT: Robert Kubica won the Grand Prix...

Congratulations to Kubica from Poland who won the Grand Prix today.

I'm not an avid fan of car racing, but...it's good to see young Kubica win his first race in 29 races. It's a good change, imo, for Kubica and BMW to win, instead of you know who!

Maybe Komisarek (Polish American) and Kubica will celebrate together tonight?!!!!!! (I actually saw Komisarek for 3 seconds on RDS recently...he was at some kind of poshy VIP party at the Casino for the Grand Prix...).

Kubica and BMW

That was a crazy GP. What a dumb dumb mistake by Lewis Hamilton.

This was maybe a "expect the unexpected" kind of day!!

In tennis it was the usual Federer VS Nadal (deja vue all over again, yawn!!), except that Federer only won 4 games in 3 sets (very unusual score).

Anyways...congrats to Kubica and BMW

Yeah, but the race was exciting because of it! Great battles all along, and two sweet moves by Massa...

If it wasn't for that ****up by the Ferrari pit crew, Massa would've won today

I like Kubica since he's in F1, mostly because he took over JV spot. So far this season he's been amazing despite not being able to compete directly with the top 2 teams, but he really got the max out of his car in every races so far and it puts him in the lead.

Nice to see Coulthard on the podium as well, i always liked him and it's good to see him there once again.

Yeah both those moves by Massa were outstanding and he doesn't even get podium. Entertaining race to say the very least.

Hamilton is basically the F1 version of Crosby.

I just meant BMW instead of...Ferrari.

I wasn't referring to the drivers, but the CAR.
Although I am VERY happy Kubica won it, happy for Kubica and BMW.

I don't really follow race car driving, but last time I (sort of) followed, it was Ferrari this, Ferrari that, Schumacher this, Schumacher that. Too much FLAG waving going on, imo. (in my opinion, too much nationalism, too much pride can be unhealthy, but that's just one opinion...mine!).

It's all good for (retired?) Schumacher and Ferrari, but I get tired of the same old, again and again...I like different winners/faces, at least once in a while (share the wealth, share the fun!).

I'll use tennis (again!) as an example: Federer VS Nadal rivalry... Federer is a major class act and a GREAT tennis player, Nadal (not a huge fan) is super (mostly) on CLAY courts. But I do sometimes get fed up with the same faces again and again...
Variety is needed sometimes for entertainment purposes, but what are you going to do? Federer and Nadal are sometimes too unbeatable (Djokovic to the rescue, maybe?!).

cheers
