Matt D'Agostini + 2nd pick in 2008 for Boucher.
That deal sounds fine.

Norstrom just retired today. So, Boucher will stay in Dallas, I guess.
Not really.
Stars have Zubov, Niskanen, Grossman, Daley, Robidas/Boucher, Fistric as the top six. They aren't going to put Fistric as the #7th. Then leaves selling high on Robidas, or trading Boucher.

I would require a top 6 forward or a mid-first round pick for Boucher. He's a top pairing defenseman with a cap hit of only $2.5 million. Tied the franchise record for goals by a defenseman two years ago. Unfortunately, I think the injuries this past season hurt his value on the trade market, so I'd just as soon keep him and trade Robidas.

At the deadline... in the off-season the prices are lower. And the trade wasn't that simple - it included 3rd + 4th + prospect and dumped Modry

Boucher sounds like a two year rental - as he may retire then. A second rounder?

I still think Boucher would net a greater return than Robidas, though. When healthy, he's the better player, but how often do we see that?

D'Agostini + O'Byrne for Boucher + 3rd rounder.

We can now move up 2 D-men in 09-10 (Tank + Carle?)

I would trade most of our D (except Niskanen and Zubov) before i would trade Robidas.

In my FA game (I was Colorado), I traded Svatos and Cumiskey for Boucher.

....Why?

I'd be ecstatic if Dallas managed to pull that off, lol.

Colorado's forward depth + help on the blueline for the Avs. Was a good fit, I think.

I have to agree. I'd take that and run as would I hope Stars' management.

Also the Montreal deal doesn't sound horrible. I think there is a market for Boucher. It's just going to depend on how the Stars' feel about Jansevski (sp?) being the number 7 guy. A top six right winger is desperately needed. Please god, Blake Wheeler come on down.
