Expectation from youth...

So, here we have the numbers out kids put up last year. What kind of offensive production do you think we could see next season? Note, rookies only.

Last Year:

Dubinsky:82GP 14G 26A 40P
Dawes:61GP 14G 15A 29P
Callahan:52GP 8G 5A 13P
Staal:80GP 2G 8A 10P

For instance, here are my numbers:

Next Year:

Dubinsky:82GP 26G 36A 62P
Dawes:82GP 20G 22A 42P
Callahan:82GP 19G 15A 34P
Staal:82GP 7G 14A 21P

Good numbers... I think your pretty much right on, although I see Dubinsky in the 50's range. Let's say low 50's without Jagr... and high 50's-60 with him. Staal could get a few more points. I think it somewhat depends on the Rangers off-season moves. If he ends up playing upwards of 25 min a game, then he could snag a few more.

I agree it all depends on who plays with who. All have great capability but there are many factors that influence the result.

If Dubi got say Cally's ice time, no PP, no first line min.'s, no linemate in Jager what would be the result?

Don't read into this....Dubi did great but certainly had many factors in his favor..........Same as Dawes......

All 3 are good ...all contibuted the best they could bringing different element to the team......it is not always points

The only one I don't agree with here is Cally's numbers. Cally is pretty streaky. I'd put him in the 25-30 range. And like the person above said, Duby will probably get in the 60's playing with Jagr and 50's without him.

dawes 30 goals is something that most people will not agree with but im with you on this one. he will play on second line with gomez the entire year n get pp time. without shanny being the #1 option for gomez to pass to he will be getting the chance to shot more from the slot. gomez made gionta into a 40 goal scorer he can def get 30 out of dawes. so please everyone stop putting dawes in trades cuz hes hear to stay and play with gomer

I just don't see Dubi and Cally having that big a jump next year.

Dubi I think will be +/- 50 points and Cally will be +/- 30 points. I do think they will show strong progression each year, however.

no prob, well i think your right on with duby except maybe add on some pim as long as he works with colton orr in the offseason
callahan if he stays healthy is a 15-20 goal a season guy so that looks good.
staal, sky is the limit for this kid just depends on who they pair him with.
im not sold on potter just yet but have been waiting for korpo to get his chance to play and think he could be in the same range as cally.

Now you've jinxed them all. Way to go.

I'd imagine:

Dubinsky: 25G 30A 55P
Assuming he plays with Jagr again, I think his production will hinge upon how Jagr is doing. I also think the LW on that line will be a major factor for both Dubi's and Jagr's numbers.

Dawes: 20G 25A 45P
I suspect we'll see Dawes on Gomez's wing for most of the season with either Avery or a player picked up in the UFA/trading arena. I'm not expecting him to be a 60+ point player just yet, but he'll take some steps forward. Probably going to get a considerable amount of PP time as well with Shanny (probably) being gone.

Korpikoski: 12G 15A 27P
I'm willing to bet the Korpedo plays on the wing on the 3rd line with Callahan and Drury. Thats a trio of solid two-way forwards with a ton of speed and intensity.

Callahan: 10G 15A 25P
If Callahan gets hot and stays healthy, I think we could see his production go up and he could be a steady 30-40 point 3rd line player. However, he hasn't really shown that to us yet, so I think the safe bet is 25 points with 2 or 3 of his goals coming shorthanded.

Staal: 5G 25A 30P
I think we'll see Staal get some more PP time about 20-30 games into the season if not right out of the gate. Renney might let the leash go on his offensive potential a little bit as we've seen some moments of absolute brilliance when he skates the puck out of the zone. I wouldn't be surprised to see his mean streak start to come out a bit as well.

It's very tough to tell...

when you don't know what the depth on the wings will look like. Dubi can be stuck playing with a couple dolts because there's no depth and Drury and Gomez are playing with the the top wingers. So I'm not inclined to speak in detail regarding expected production for these players. Generally, I exect Dawes to improve and I expect Cally to put up solid third line points. Dubi I really have to wait on though.

I like the Idea of Korpikoski on the Drury and Callahan line because that is a defensive minded line with offensive upside

Dawes I think needs to play on the Gomez line with a new FA............

Then keep Avery and Jagr with Dubinsky

Betts with Sjostrom and Moore

Spend the cash on resigning the guys we have upfront with the exception of one Forward as mentioned for Gomez

Ideally Orpik and Hainsey for example

that exactly what i'v been saying. only thing your missing is leaving colton orr in the lineup because he has earned that spot

If Jagr doesn't come back, I think Dubinsky is going to be hard pressed to better his numbers last season. In fact I think they'll most likely be pretty similar.

Reasons:

1) If Jagr doesn't come back, Dubinsky is going to be the third line center.

2) That means he's going to get less minutes.

3) That also means he's not going to be playing with offensive players as good as he did last season.

4) He might very lose time on the PP. The only reason that he was getting PP time was Jagr could not mesh with Gomez or Drury.

I agree that if Jagr does'nt come back then Dubi is the 3rd line winger but I still think he gets the time..........He'll be on the PP unit for sure but maybe the second......I see Gomez, Drury on the #1..........

I also think with my line combos that yea Orr is on the team but I don't think he plays all the time like last yr.........Greg Moore is 24 and deserves a chance....plus it gives a better 4th line that can chip in with goals........I also think Byers is up at some pt to stay next yr........he's the first call up in my eyes assuming Korpikoski does get in

Main thing is Rangers need to continue to add to the youth with the cap the way it is...............they could bring in 2 real solid FA Dmen as long as they let some young players who come cheap take the 3rd and 4th lines

agreed, use the $ to sign orpik and another dman and sign rolston to play with gomer. besides that keep injecting the youth into this team. i like moore to take betts spot in the long run also like byers to get some time this year
