Habs Draft Prediction Thread

I know there is a draft thread open, but I thought it would be fun to have a bit of a prediction contest.

This is very simple, if the Habs stay at #25, who do you think they will select? Not necessarily who you want us to pick, but who we will end up with.

We will re-visit this thread after the draft to see who was right!

Well maybe they will all be wrong then...Who knows whats going on in Trevor Timmins mind. He's a tough guy to predict and he may have his eye on somebody we really did not expect....

Not necessarily who we want, but who we think we will get with the pick....

I'm gonna say Eberle.

Deschamps!!!

If he's not available, I say Grachev or Eberle. I think they gonna draft upfront, the bpa upfront. They will take a d-man only if they feel a really good one drop to them. I don't see them taking a goalie. They're thin after Price and Halak, but a 21 years old starter and a 23 years old back up with starting potential isn't bad and so, I don't think it's a priority. They could get a guy like Jake Allen in 2nd or 3rd round.

I'm going with Zac Dalpe.

Habs are in major need of a centre with potential and I don't think Colborne will be available. Dalpe has huge upside as well but is a hit or miss prospect. The habs can afford to take a chance on him.

I don't think so... most people figure he won't be available at our pick.

+1

I'd be very happy with that pick. Although, the Oilers need a big C aswell plus he's a western boy.

Why do we always pick behind Minny...........I know it just seems all those ex-Habs in that org are picking guys that would look good in a Habs sweater.

John Carlson or trade down to aquire some additional 2nd rd picks, which I think is more intriguing.

Since I already came up with my thoughts on who we might be interested in, I'll even narrow it down to who I think we end up picking mixed in with who I'd want.

1st-25th overall- I think we'll get Deschamps, I'd prefer Jokinen.

2nd-56th overall- I think we'll get Karksson, I'd prefer Sauve.

3rd-86th overall- I think we'll get Cormier, I'd prefer Paquette

4th-116th overall- no clue but I'd like to get Bourdon or a goalie, really want Delmas.

7th-206th overall- Would like Youso or Lee.

How about Petrov, do you think he might still be around at 25th?

I would actually be very happy with Jokinen too...he should still be around at 25 I think.

Yes I think he'll be on board at 25th. I dont' see us taking him but I haven't heard anything on him if Timmins likes him or not.

Always hard to predict!
I tried to figure out picks before our turn and it gives:

1st-25th overall- Justin Jokinen or Corey Trivino

2nd-56th overall- Maxime Sauvé or Erik Karlsson

3rd-86th overall- Danick Paquette or Maxim Chudinov

4th-116th overall- Jacob Lagacé or Joël Champagne

7th-206th overall- Sergei Ostapchuk or David Warsofsky or Jaroslav Janus

No Maxime, I like his speed and he seems to have decent hands, just hope he bulks up a bit. I am not a big fan of Yann Sauve's personally.

I hope we don't get Champagne. Warofsky I've heard good things about but seems he wouldn't make it that far down. Janus seems to be getting some hype on the prospects board, sounds interesting, what sort of game does he play?

Jokinen and Trivino aren't firsts and if they are picked, what a waste. Unless of course a team really, really wants them, believes they'll be gone by their 2nd

If Colborne is a available, then him. If Stefanovich is and Colborne isn't, then Stef. If neither are available, then Nemisz.

I pray we don't draft a defensman in the first
