Would trade centered around Samsonov for R. Symth work with you guys? I mean I think there would have to be some tinkering to make it work but they would be the center pieces. What does the Oilers nation think? Be kind the Bruins and oilers are my 2 favorite teams and i'm trying to help both teams.
I would actually prefer Samsonov's style of play here even though he's small, it would be nice to see an Oiler who could dangle in the offensive zone and get the shot on net.
Samsonov's short, but he's not small. He's listed at 180 or 190, depending where you look. He's a fire-hydrant type. Helluva player when healthy, but he's had a lot of injuries, most notably a wrist that's been surgically repaired twice.
All things considered, he's not an upgrade on Smyth.
yes...way too injury prone. His salary is up and his value is down so Boston will hold onto him for a time.
He looks more like a Sather gamble one day than anything. And then he is sure to get injured as it seems to be the curse of any over priced talent in New York. The trainers and team doctors continue to be the hardest working guys on the Rangers,

As long as he's by the side of Igor Ulanov, he'll develop into a very dependable defenseman. I wouldn't worry abotu him too much... he gets bak in time to recover for his mistakes. Just let the kid grow... he'll be good.
I personally think this kids got some wicked skills.... for sure will make our players better if he's around but i dunno like to think that every team is getting bigger and faster, but we're jus gettting smaller and faster with the exception of our defenceman.
