Listed here as the Hawks are his favorite team.

That got me thinking... I'm sure if the Hawks wanted they could deal with Columbus to get that 6th overall pick and take Filatov. Just imagine...

Filatov-Toews-Kane

This city would be on fire.

Jus wishful thinking I suppose

If Filatov falls to 6th, something is wrong.

The reason he would fall is not because of his talent but because he has a contract signed with an other team in Russia that would not allow him to come over right away until the contract expires. It would have to be an agreement between the Russian team and the NHL team. So it is possible for him to fall somewhere closer to the middle of the first round.

Actually he's not under contract anymore and he's said that he's coming to play in NA next year.

Yup. The smart money says he doesn't get past the Islanders.

In "Isles might trade down" -thread, I proposed follwing trade:

To Chigago:
5th overall (if Filatov is available)

To Islanders:
11th overall
Petri Kontiola
------------------------------

What say Chigago fans? Too much? Too little? Bad idea?

I doubt Columbus would trade the chance to draft him to a division rival...

exactly, Snowman has said that he will take the BPA, and if he doesnt he probably will take Who is vere left over of Doughty, Bogo and Schenn or posibly take Bodeker to block Toronto from gettting him

But from everything i have read, LA at 2 ATL at 3 and STL at 4 will all take dmen, so it is looking better and better that the Islanders take Filatov, sorry guys we need in a trade a good prospect and your pick and another later round pick at least, then I could see GM Snow trading the 5th and Jeff Tambellini

I don't know about Howson...

but if he is there at 6.. I sprint to the podium and take Filatov. Fact is I'd sprint to the podium for any of the projected top 6 players. We could use any of them.

In fact, we should also package the 19th and something to jump right back into the top 10 to take Hodgson or Wilson as well.

Thats about all there is to say on that.
