If you can't remember a simple 3 digit area code, I have no faith in your ability to get through life.
Well, I guess it is true, tact is for those who are not witty enough to be sarcastic. I mean it is not like I am going to start a whole rant about a new area code, strap dynamite to myself, fail to blow up at a town meeting, break off and build a new town/province, start a feud with the old town/province, build a wall dividing us, and then have The Who bring us all together again with the idea of auto dialers. But knowing you PJO that will probably be the next topic for you to ***** about, or are you just upset that I beat you to the news.
We've had that for over 5 years in Montreal, and Toronto has had it for about 10
You wont even notice you're dialing the 3 extra digit in a few years.
Few months even.. sounds worse than it is.

If nothing is done, sometime next year communities are going to start running out of phone numbers.
That has already come and gone. Example: Drayton Valley, Alberta. The towns population in 6,000 (or so the sign says), it has already gone through 542,514, 898, and now is using 202. That should be enough for 40,000 numbers, that is 6.66 phone numbers a person.
With most people using cell phones as long as you have those extra digits programmed into your phone you won't notice anything. I hardly have anybody's numbers memorized anymore because I only use my contact list.

As long as New Edmonton doesn't make taxpayers pay for its hockey arena, he'll likely have little to say.

not a big deal.
I won't get irked until Telus sets it up like some places where I've been. That is when you make a local call from your home phone it's a fee each and everytime. on top of the usual rental fees. that's when it sucks.

is this for landline or wirless or both? my thought is such a large number base may have to go along with the number of oilfield companies that are based there and the numbers of employees each of those company's have. just a thought.
