Eklund Rumor: Cammalleri to Oil (e4)

http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?post_id=15714

"Cammalleri has long been coveted by the Oilers and word is a Pitkanen for Cammalleri deal could be in the works..."

I'm not a big believer in Eklund, but this is interesting none the less.

Again? Another Pitkanen-Cammalleri rumor? When will these end? As I have said (many times) before, I wouldn't like that deal in the least. It does no good for our club whatsoever.

This makes no sense now, because Cammalleri is becoming a UFA, if I'm not mistaken.

I am not a fan of that trade. If it was also involving their first I would be down though.

Didn't he get awarded two years at his arbitration last year?

Cammy and the 2nd for Pitkanen, the 22nd, and a forward? (Torres, Pouliot, etc)

This doesn't make sense. Even more forwards? What about Team Reasoner? Grrrr....

This guy had Cammellari coming to Edmonton since before last years draft.

At one point he may have even had the Oilers flipping Pitkanen to LA shortly after Lowe originally aquired him.

I just can't imagine Cammellari being the guy that Lowe has identified as the must need top line player he was talking about.

LA fan here... Eklund is about as accurate on king deals as my dead grandmother is. He does have connections in Philly and Nashville but he has yet to get anything Kings related correct. Two years ago hehad Chara AND Elias in Kings uniforms. Last year is was Drur and Gomez. He has zero connections with the Kings so I wouldnt sweat it.

Besides, the Kings ARE NOT trading their #2. Our defensive depth is pathetic. There is a good chance we trade Dallas's #1, but #2 overall will be defenseman for the Kings. Dont want ya to get yer hopes up.

the only thing worthwhile on LA outside of Koptiar is Dustin Brown. id rather have him 10 fold over Ryan Malone.
Eklund must have ran out of fortune cookie rumors that he pulls out of his beret.

Glad to know that Eklund is dismissed in both cities on this one.

That said, Cammeleri only makes sense if he is signing an extension as part of a deal and on top of that Pitkanen is still worth more then what he is.

I dont know anything about Pitkanen. I pretty much keep my head into the LA Kings. I know he has a bad rep but am not sure for what. Can anyone shed some light.

The fact that Cammy is 1 year away from being UFA shoots down the trade from my point of view. One reason why there are so many rumours about Cammy is due to his reported contract demands

Clearly I was mistaken, but it still doesn't make that much sense. What the hell is wrong with the boards?

I'm not sure whats wrong with the boards. The "quote" feature is disabled, and it shows I'm the only one on the boards. I am Legend

I love when fans step in a thread and definitively say their team will NOT be trading something. Like they're privy to all inside information. It always looks good when it backfires.
YOU might not think the trade is worthy. Doesn't mean it can never happen.

Pitkanen > Cammalleri anyway.

Rename your thread to "More Eklund bs to get more hits on his site, especially from Canadian team fanbases."

Apparently Montreal is getting Selanne, Sundin and Hossa.

funny part is that he has a E3 (ellis to STL) news before and E4 one ... and the wording is too pathetically vague for it to be a E4 ie almost a done deal.

Sure, cause Frolov, O'Sullivan, and Jack Johnson are pieces of s***.

There is no way the Kings will trade Cammalleri (80-point scorer) and the 2nd overall pick for Pitkanen. Chances are that 2nd overall (Doughty, Bogosian) will be better than Pitkanen and less of a headcase too.

Even if you look at it value wise and do something like:

To Los Angeles:

Joni Pitkanen
Dwayne Roloson

To Edmonton:

Mike Cammy
(2 second round picks)

Im not entirely sure that its the best deal out there for edmonton. We might be able to dump some salary for roloson and pick up some picks and a good forward in the process. I just don't see lowe moving pitkanen unless its part of a package for a better player.

I don't think L.A. would want Roloson at all. Your proposal doesn't make sense for the Kings.
