Is he a UFA, I thought he was still restricted. Either way, I'm glad he won't be back with the Panthers. (Hopefully that's still the plan.)

Mezei is UFA; so is Johansson, Cullimore, and Montador.

Thanks. I knew the other 3 were, I just thought that Mezei was a RFA who wouldn't be tendered. thanks for clearing it up. I'd be happy if Johansson and Cullimore are brought back.

Do you guys know anything about us signing our RFA's?

Our list was:
Gregory Campbell
Kamil Kreps
Garth Murray
Drew Larman
Rob Globke
Stefan Meyer
Anthony Stewart

and so far only Kreps has been signed out of that.

My opinion of the following:

Our list was:
Gregory Campbell Likely to be resigned
Kamil Kreps Already signed
Garth Murray Likely to be let go, no need with Belak here
Drew Larman Not sure
Rob Globke Likely to be let go
Stefan Meyer Likely to be resigned
Anthony Stewart Likely to be resigned, not that I agree with that but it's just to see if DeBoer can't shape him up already

and so far only Kreps has been signed out of that.
But we're already going off topic by talking about our RFAs. This is about Olli so let's keep it focused on him

GR Update

KANATA, Ontario -- Finally got online here at the Senators' arena out in the sticks, waiting for something to get going.

You can take St. Louis off the board in trying to get Olli Jokinen, the Palm Beach Post's Brian Biggane speaking with Blues' president John Davidson earlier today to confirm that (I wrote yesterday St. Louis guys were in the hotel talking to Panthers guys. A reach? Yup.)

Also hearing Minnesota has upped its offer for Olli, but the Panthers still aren't biting, one source saying Florida has better offers on the table. Minnesota's offer sounds decent (the Wild's pick at 24 is a bit low) so if Florida does have better offers, they could be pretty strong.

Still hearing the usual list of suspects: Calgary, Vancouver, C-Bus and Tampa Bay (just kidding with that one.)

You just know JM is going to get a real nice return on Olli if he is indeed traded. The best part is that there are a bunch of teams interested and that will only drive the return package up.

I'll agree there. I certainly don't think that Martin is going to just trade Olli for the sake of trading him. He's not dumb.

The best part for you guys is that three of the most interested teams are all division rivals. Neither team is going to want to see one of the other teams land Jokinen.

Haven't you heard? They made a movie about the Keenan and Martin Florida GM Era, it was called Dumb and Dumber! THE HOCKEY GOD will probably send a lightning bolt my way for that!

This is the only way I see us getting the "overpayment."

Not only would none of the other teams want to see the others land Olli, but I doubt Martin trades Jokinen within the division. If he does, Im sure he will make it a lopsided deal.

He is saying that the teams interested are all in the same division so they will put in more assets to get Jokinen so the others don't get him.

JM has said he is in the process of negotiating a contract with both. He said if they don't sign they will go a different direction. I hope they get signed too.

1 HOUR!

I guess time will run out if we don't get a pick, since that's what we're looking for.

Well, Kreps was the most important one off that list so thats good. Also, I remember reading somewhere after we signed Deboer, Campbell saying his contract talks were moving along and that he didn't anticipate any problems and fully expects to continue being a Panther. I hope he also keeps Larman, I liked the way he played when he was brought up.

Yeah I saw that. They'd make a great bottom pair, imo. However, Welch needs to fit in there, too. I'd imagine it'll be a fight between those 3.
