Sweet, this is great news. We can finally have all our prospects in the right place instead of putting people in the ECHL because the AHL was too crowded

Furthermore, players with Rochester will now be coached with a focus on preparing them to play for the Panthers organization. Ideally Rochester will run a similar system so players can be interchangeable between the two teams.

As far as I know the Panthers still plan on placing a few players that don't make the Amerks with the Florida Everblades.

Very nice, so will Gerry Fleming be announced as the new Amerks head coach or will Randy Cunneyworth be sticking around?

You're kidding right? There were several news reports throughout last season and this off season discussing JMs involvement in this deal.

Who cares who was the primary person responsible for getting us a AHL team , again . The point is we have one now . This is a great step foward for the organization . Our prospects will learn the system b4 coming up and develop chemistry.

I don't care, I was curious if this was Martin's doing. I was going to give him credit.

Well, obviously Cohen played a huge role in it, but that's why Martin has been signing so many young guys from college and such. He needs to re-stock Rochester since Buffalo pulled out, due to financial reasons.

I'm glad we have our own AHL team again, it's important that the kids get as much playing time as possible.

It's about damned time we got back a sole affiliate.

Maybe this time, they won't screw the pooch like they did in San Antonio.

If the Amerks are still around then. Don't know how closely you guys have been following the situation, but things don't look good (money wise) for the Amerks or city of Rochester. Good luck.

We're aware of what's been going on. I'm sure they'll do what they can to keep it afloat, seeing as how they've invested quite a bit already.

Thanks for the enlightening comments. The Amerks just signed a 5 year lease and have brand new owners with considerable financial resources.

It's absolutely Martin's doing. He's been all over this all season long.
