Spezza to Kings (E3)

If anything like this happens and it does not include Kopitar I will be seriously pissed off at Bryan Murray

Wonder if we Offered Spezza + for Kopitar + the 2nd overall.

I cannot see LA dealing Kopitar. You would have a better shot at getting Cammalleri and O'Sullivan before Kopitar IMO

It's not BS at all. This is being reported all over the place. All Eklund is saying is that they're indeed talking. That doesn't mean something is going to happen. It most likely won't.

Murray does not like small centers.. I can't see him taking Cammalleri

I would not do it..

I hope we offered this...

To LA: Spezza +18th overall

To Ott: Kopitar + 2nd overall.

I dont understand all this Kings rumors that suggest the Kings want to add an expensive or soon-to-be expensive forward at the expensive of a cheaper forward and the 2nd pick aka an incredible prospect defenseman.

Are the Kings really stupid or do the rumor mongers think we are?? Why on earth woulk the Kings add to strength and take away from their weaknesses?? Anyone??

Is this a joke? You sure the Kings don't need to throw in Brown & Frolov too?

Closer than Camma and a 2nd for Spezza and a first, that's for sure.

The answer is: they wouldn't.

Somewhere the idea that the Kings have a lot of draft picks and therefore might make some noise this year turned into "the Kings are going to trade all their best players for guys other teams no longer want for whatever reason."

a) the Kings need Defense, not another scorer - We already have those

b) Why would Dean drop from a delicious #2 to #18?

IT'S - NOT - GOING - TO - HAPPEN

this is a dumb deal, for Ottawa AND for the Kings

He also had an (e4) on Cammy for Pitkanen just 2 days ago. That's (e4) - So what happened Ek?

Sorry, but the Kings are not going to move 16 spots down in the draft AND lose 5 years on their #1 center for a 20 point improvement and a playoff vanishing cloak.

And why would LA do this either? Kopitar is the next Spezza, if not better. Hes over 4 years younger than Spezza and has already bested Spezzas 1st and 2nd year totals by a large margin. Kopitar had 77 points when Spezza had 55 points in almost the same amount of games at the same age, doing so with lesser players on his wing. Hes 20 years old and already hit almost 80 points with no bona fide veteran talents on his wings. Not to mention, hes a lot cheaper for the next two years, a little bigger, and less injury prone at this point in his career than Spezza is. And what does LA do with the little offensive edge Spezza provides when their big needs are defenseman??

Not to mention the difference in picks is huge considering LAs needs and the fact that their 2nd overall pick can address exactly that.

That ppg average in the playoffs Spezza has is indeed a problem. I can't imagine any team wanting a guy like that. Perhaps Ottawa is lucky to get a small guy a year away from unrestricted free agency and trade down to the second round for him and that crappy 18th overall pick. My bad, I now see the light.

So this myth is just going to keep growing after two bad series? He led the playoffs in scoring just ONE year ago and has 39 points in 40 playoff games.

I was referring to the Kopitar + #2 "counter proposal." I agree that Cammalleri for Spezza is a joke for Ottawa. Is it Friday yet?
