No chance Gagne gets moved. When he is healthy he is a 40+ goal scorer with great two way skills. Due to his recent injury problems his trade value is down way lower than it should be and the Flyers aren't going to take whatever they can get just to shed some cap room.

I also think some of you guys are really, REALLY overvaluing draft picks. Just because you are drafted in the first round or even top 15 does not make you a guarenteed success. A lot of these guys just fizzle out and if you do happen to get a solid top 6 winger or top 4 defenseman then you are one of the lucky ones. Unless a team is rebuilding then they will always take the proven commodity over the prospect. Always.

I would love to acquire Gagne for the Penguins. Would be an absolute beast.

If Gagne goes, which he isn't, there's no way we could let him go to the Pens, nor would we. Simon Gagne + Sidney Crosby=Gagne getting probably 60-70 goals. No exaggeration.

To Edmonton- Gagne, Flyers 3rd rounder
To Philly- Stoll, 22nd pick, Smid

Philly gets some defensive depth in Smid, while both teams get some damaged goods. Edmonton gets, what might be, a top three forward (if he stays healthy) and don't lose a pick (in quantity) so they aren't hurting for depth. Plus, the trade that they made last year seemed to have made both teams happy.
