This is the part that should be of interest to everyone that keeps coming up with trade proposals of 2 or 3 average players for Pitkanen. Lowe is in no hurry to trade him. The only way something happens is if he can get a better player in return, which would most likely mean adding more players on his part.
Which has been obvious from the get-go to anyone who looked at the Oilers roster.

Nice to hear Lowe say it though.

with Emery waived/bought out.....maybe they would have interest in Roli with only 1 yr remaining on his contract

Good call!!! As a matter of fact we'll probably have a whole lot of EVERYTHING. 8 d-mem on 1-way deals, 15+ forwards that are NHL capable, 3 NHL caliber goaltenders.

This team is pretty deep at the moment.

Trading Pitkanen would be stupid.
Dude, is someone giving me a run for biggest fan of a single player on this board??? It sure seems like it, as a matter of fact, I think that you took teh lead with this!!!

Here is a 10 min video interview with Lowe. He says many of the things that were quoted in the paper, but I though t someone might want to see the video.

Yeah my initial thoughts aswell, but they also have Brain Elliot or Jeff Glass who came up and performed well from the minors (forgot which one), so I think they may go with one of them + Gerber.

I remember hearing a lot of traded were out there last year. I don't know why Lowe just doesn't keep his mouth shut when it comes to stuff like this. Just go to to the draft and do what you have to do.

If he doesn't do anything, people will will say, "He couldn't do one trade out of 22!!!!!!"

Sounds like Lowe wants to get some more scoring up front rather than more picks.

Dude, you have no idea. I do like Pitkanen, but I was more kept up by the fact that the Oilers looked like they were going to do something very stupid (trade Pitkanen) and there was nothing I could do about it. That said, I've had worse than just losing sleep. I cried when Wayne was traded, and I got so upset when Messier left that I threw up. Of course, I was 7 and 10 when those things happened.

Yeah it is always interesting when you get see or hear the actual interview (it is on the Oil site). It comes across a little different when it is in context.

22 deals on his desk, Klo is flustered....

KLo: "Where's that Malkin for Hemsky deal? I can't find it in this enormous pile!"
KPre:"That was just an Eklund rumour, it's beside the toilet with the rest of them."

Moving something for the sake of moving something makes us no better then the New York Islanders, and it's stupid.
