Mike Green/ Avery rumors

Green looking for big raise

"If Green goes unsigned by tomorrow, there is a chance another team may convince him to sign an offer sheet."

http://www.thefourthperiod.com/news/was080630.html

--------------------------------------------------

Rangers still an option for Avery

"He's interested to see what the market is and he wants to play in a competitive market," Guy told TFP. "His first choice is to get a deal done with New York."

I sure hope so....

The Caps will match ANY offer sheet to Mike Green, I'm almost certain.

Offer sheets really aren't worth the headaches they cause, though I wouldn't mind Mike Green.

Leonsis has said that at every opportunity.

How long has Mike Green been in NHL? He has better years ahead of him yet.

how long he has played is more important than how many years he has left. Also, probably as important, is WHO he has played with.

True, but it's still pretty unbelievable how he went from 12 points to 58 in one season.

I can sympathize with Washington in not initially giving him what he wants. Although I don't see him as a one hit wonder, there's always that chance. He'll probably wants something like 5.5 million, and I bet he will get it

If Green is a Ranger to start the season, I'll eat my gym sock.

Still, Green will be a perennial top-5 offensive d-man in this league for a long, long time. However, he's going to be more of a Campbell than a Kaberle.

Ha! Was just responding to that thread in the FA frenzy forum. LA has the room to match any offer, and I imagine they would.

Stop dreaming about Green and O'Sullivan.

As someone who loves the Kings as well, I would LOVE for O'Sullivan to be a Ranger.

We screwed up with both of these guys in consecutive draft years.

Both Lombardi and McPhee won't let these guys go.
