Maybe this is all just TSN building hype to make sure everybody in Toronto and Montreal watches their show tonight!

Cammalleri, Sundin, Marleau, Gaborik. ANY of these players I would be happy with. More then happy with so long as Sundin (if it were him) doesn't kick the bucket or retire the following year.

What they bring:

Cammalleri: He may be small, but hes fast and he knows how to put the puck in the net. Great passer. Only reason he had a bad season with +/- was because their defense wasn't up to par, and had a so-so/poor season. Hes shown in previous seasons and leagues he can play 2 ways.

Sundin: Big, player with great play making skills, and can win 1 on 1 battles. Carried the leafs last year on his back and had one of his best seasons given his age. Can be a huge threat, and could mesh well and bring out the best in the Kostitsyns.

Marleau: Brings size and has/had great play making skills in his previous years. Can bring out the best in most players, and the fact that we had 7 50+ point players this year could become higher than that if we had the right chemistry, and the right set of hands leading the way. abit of a Risk trade.

Gaborik: Franchise player that brings incredible speed, great hockey sense, vision, and extremely soft hands. Can find the net, and can play both ways. Carried his team on his back with highest points given the fact that he plays on a very defensive team. Mix him with a high speed aggressive scoring machine team with alot of young guns, and we have a lethal weapon in our midst.

Anyone of these guys can be an extreme positive. And if we have 2 of em? Well lets just say this forum would be partysville!

Cross your fingers for anything remotely accurate to this!

On ne sait toujours pas à quelle équipe et en retour de quoi le Canadien aurait échanger son choix. Une confirmation pourrait venir au cours des prochaines minutes.

Woooo hooooo. 2 hours till draft time. Can't wait to see what happens.
i agree . Gainey was thinking bout moving down in the draft if there guy was gone .

I dont think there is a player in todays draft at (25 that) can match what we get in Sundin (right now) and yes Sundin is short term but were goin for it NOW .

i got no problem if they sent them a late 1st rounder.

It remains unclear how team and in return what the Canadiens would exchange his choice. A confirmation could come during the next few minutes.

Bob might have simply moved down in the draft rather than have made the big move for Sundin.

Possible, but why do it so early? It would make more sense to negotiate the deal, then wait to see who's available at 25 before moving down.

why? Why in god's name do you trade to move down without knowing who's available at 25?

Impossible.

Makes no sense to move down in the draft 3 hours before the draft.

Moving up or down in a draft is a reaction move to what is happening in the draft, UNLESS it is to move up to a very high pick.

They could be interested in someone like David Toews who won't be picked at 25.

Wouldn't it be comical if we actually traded our 1st pick to move down (IE : another 2nd) + a minor player/prospect ?

Disappointment of the year would be an understatement

Actually not for me who's a draft junkie and wouldn't mind adding a pick that could give us for examples, Maxime Sauvé and Danick Paquette instead of Deschamps who anyway, Habs knows that he'll end up in Boston....

Wouldn't be dissapointed especially since we would still have a chance to get Sundin in the UFA period and that we will not get Marleau....

OR you do like I did in the online sim I'm a part of...

*I entered the 1989 draft without a first rounder*

I traded my 1990 First Rounder + Walt Poddubny for the 15th overall pick and a third round pick.

THEN

I traded the 15th overall pick + Randy Cunneyworth for the 10th overall pick.

And I got my man at 10th, Geoff Sanderson.
