That is the true lineup of the plugger revolution.

I don't know if I should laugh or cry about this lineup. I hate to bring up the unthinkable but.....what happens if we, dare I say it, win ?!?!?!?

Remember the Lemieux goal in the Olympics on Hasek?

You couldn't see the puck, but you knew it was in his glove, and the glove was in the net...

What's another bad call?

Terrible play by Brewer on the goal, under pressure he treats the puck like a handgrenade

what i saw is the puck hit Manny's arm and go down to his glove (it was the only black thing moving) i don't know how they could not see that

NO a bad play by Brewer and Detroit scored short-handed after the ref called a O-Hooking call on Hull

I think this is an important game for Hemsky, he is probably the only guy who can legitametly create offence on his own, he's going to play a lot of minutes in game where he isn't going to be out-muscled or roughed up too much.He needs to step up his play, tonight will be a good indiacation of his progress. Got robbed of a goal but can't let that discourage him.

Yeah, nice hard work period by the Oilers

I can't see why Hemsky's goal wasn't a goal. I would imagine it was the homer guys at JLA. One thing about the Oilers guys is they are far from homers. I think I've seen more calls go against us at home than for us.

Another Brew gaffe where he skates his ownself into trouble and then another five hole goal from Sievo. Five hole goals are trash to give up and it's just another reason why he's the third worst starting goalie in the league.

Couple of bad plays from Rita early on where he couldn't chip the puck out of the zone and I think that we can finally slam the door on his career because he should be able to produce playing on a line with Ferguson.

Can't believe the Oilers have been caught with their pants down on that one.

Well knowing Lowe and Co and why they were hired, I guess I can believe it but it's just funny and not in a ha-ha way.

Cross

Is he injured or a healthy scratch?

Meh, I didn't think Salo had a bad first period.. it wasn't a great goal but it was Brewer's fault on the giveaway and another player (Bergeron?) for leaving Draper wide open in the slot. I don't understand how that reviewed play wasn't a goal.. there was not question that the glove was entirely in the net and there was also no doubt that the puck was in the glove.. Pretty good first period though.. 17 shots on goal! I thought they were going to come out really sluggish but they've looked decent so far.. they really need an ugly goal to get back into this game.

The reason that Scott Ferguson was put on forward...............was because they wanted a winger the same speed as Oates for a change.

Nice on Horcs standing up to Chelios.

I wish we had a Chelios on D that would yap at Smyth like that on his way off the ice.

Detroits defence has looked porous at times in the 1st period.

im at work and cant watch the game.... hemsky was robbed of a goal? typical, very typical of the season indeed...... they are dominating in shots, but are they dominating the play? to be down 1-0 after outshooting a team 17-8 in a period is pathetic, but i guess you cant expect much more when we have york, reasoner, dvorak, torres and isbister all out.... arguably our 3 best players this season (york, dvorak, torres) and 2 "decent" players in isbister and reasoner...... oh well, just another nail in the coffin

Where do you get some of this stuff from? Homer guys at JLA? You mean the homer guys who have nothing to do with the Wings or Detroit and are employed by the NHL? Yeah, they blew the call, but not every blown call means homerism.

Trash? Are you from the 50's? 5 hole goals stopped being trash when goalies stopped standing with their legs together. Why do you think a lot of players like to go 5 hole from in close?

Because it's a low % shot?

Think about it!

and why do you think scoring is down?

becasue goalies can stop a lot of five hole opps.

Interesting... First period we outshoot Det. 17-8, give up one goal on a bad play by Brew, but are still in it. So in the second, we respond with being outshot 8-0, and give up another goal. Im gonna start following soccer, or Australian Rugby.

Stoll must be wondering what he did wrong between this game and last game. From Dvorak and Torres to Clueless and Craptastic....

Scoring is down because the equipment is huge.

A 5-hole goal isn't any less common than a goal to the bottom right or left corner.

Look at old tapes or watch some old games... goalies couldn't stop the shots to the low corners like they can now. It was a bit of a trade off, open up the five hole to stop the low corner shots.

Ask anyone who has been a goalie, sometimes shots to the 5 hole are the hardest to stop because you end up thinking about them before trying to stop them, which usually results in them winding up in the net.

Is Cross injured or a HS? Did Semenov get injured? He has only played 6:10 after 2 periods.

Wasn't a scrap every period the flavour of the week? Did I miss the up-dated memo?

The Wings are too god like?

Gator go get Snydes. Chopper go find Drapes. Georges......DON'T get beat up by McCarty.

I wanna see Tommy (tex) Salo flailing on Manny.

I want MacT into the stands.

It's all good....

Nashville is losing in the 3rd period, and it would be nice if the Oilers can scratch out a point in this game...

Salo just robbed Holmstrom.
