LOL

If the Oilers make the playoffs, I will buy 2 season tickets next season. My position at work has changed and I'm now available for all home games. You heard it here.

It'll take a miracle. I've pretty much lost hope on the season though. They're all over the show this year.

If they ever go on this 10 game streak they've talked about since X-mas..........It will happen when it doesn't matter. In fact I'm sure it will happen. The guys will be looser. Perhaps changes will have already taken place.

They're still my team.

(edit) STOLL SCORES!!!

Well that goal Hemsky scored but didn't get looms large to say the least.

Horrible lineup, good effort, but doesn't mean anything because we didn't get any points.

Man that was gutty... sucks that they couldn't claw back for a single point, but I wasn't expecting much from the lineup tonight.

Think Kevin will pull the trigger now?

With Sullivan going to Nashville that pretty much kills our hopes.

tonghts game proved why Laraque is a smart hockey player.

Maltby levels I think it was Stoll. Laraque comes in, as hes supposed to do (though ill never understand why a clean check needs after whistle scirmishes, but thats the NHL today). Nothing happens.

Later in the shift, Maltby tries to get Laraque to take a penalty. Maltby does this to every other "goon" in the league. he got worrell against colorado, Parker against San Jose. Laraque didnt buy it, and set up the goal. Laraque was smart enough to let it be, Maltby realized He (laraque) was not gonna be an idiot, and he let it be.

You know, I could really care less if Laraque acts like an idiot or not. Its the 2 points that matter.

For those who are interested, Semenov didn't get hurt. They've just decided to bench him.

Five Hole Tips yet

but no screen fivehole goals? No, not really.

One thing we can agree upon was that was a great effort tonight by an undermanned squad. I don't make excuses for injuries because by and large the Oilers have had great luck with avoiding them.

But tonight missing Torres, Dvorak, York, Reasoner plus the fact we still don't have anything tangible for Comrie, the Oilers tried to gut it out.

They didn't take any dumb penalties and that allowed them to stick around. Smith played a great game on the backend and Bergy showed he's worth a chance. BG contines to play well and Stoll looks like a solid pro. Another good game by Moreau as well.

I don't understand why. He didn't do anything wrong to deserve a benching.

Probably because it's his first game of the season, and it was against one of the best teams in the NHL.

I never saw the game or even heard it on radio, who are C & C?

I noticed that Stoll's goal was assisted by BG and JC, and if it's them you're referring to they were probably our most exciting line when Bashai was between them.

Funny thing, last night when TG63 said Bg was called up I posted that he was probably going to play wing just as a joke. I laughed my head off when I saw all this talk of Fergie doing it. That would be hilarious.

Man, I just read the game summary, Draper from Maltby shorthanded. Why didn't the Oil have their pk unit out against those two friggin' sharks? Oh, wait, they probably did. That's why they got scored on.

I'm more afraid right now than anything. knowing the Oilers are all but out of the playoffs, and the higher draft pick we'd get, I don't care about that because of the CBA. If I still lived in Edmonton, I'd go to every game I could from now and the end of the season. To all of you who live in Edmonton, go see them atleast one more time, because you never know. Show them you care. Act as if it's the playoffs.

I don't think you can ask for much more from the Oilers from an effort standpoint. They fell a goal short to one of the better teams in the league while missing a few key players and playing their second game in as many nights. Not to mention, it was on the road.

Hopefully the Oilers get some injured players back in the line-up for the game in Denver on Wednesday.

I'm not gonna give up on this team's playoff chances until it's impossible for them to make it.

Let's Go Oilers!

Does anyone know the status on the wounded? Torres? Dvo? Wasn't Reasonner close to returning? How about York? Man, I'm losing track.

Don't have much, just this from Tychowski's article this morning:

Quote:
The Oilers are going to be short-staffed for a while. Brad Isbister, Raffi Torres, Mike York, Marty Reasoner and Radek Dvorak are all hurting and not expected back any time soon.
Doesn't look good for the remainer of this road trip anyway.
