Funny, in the first 1/3 of the vid, he is doing a pass resulting in a shot on goal... there is a goal in fact, i copied the video and made it go at slow speed. i took a nice screen that i will post later on. Refs are the same at every level

seems a good pick to me. especially for a 2nd late.

Good eye!!! HA HA!! I thought it looked in too, but the players played on, so I though it might have hit something before going in and stayed out

Great to see that he's going in Omaha next year, same team than Conboy. I have my "contact" there so I'll ask him to follow him for us....

Must be really cool to be drafted in the NHL before being done High School.

Judging by the NHL video he seems like he's always in great positioning for offense. When he comes back, it looks like he's not backchecking but rather following the play in order to turn the play around and get into the offensive zone. He looks like he'd be better playing with more skilled players, many times he was in good position but did not get the puck. He does not look selfish, as he passes a lot, and he goes in front of the net and screens, which resulted in a goal. He seems like a guy who's decent-good with everything but not necessarily great at any particular skill with the exception of maybe speed.

I was very pleased and not surprised by the selection of Kristo. It is no secret that Timmins and co. prefer to draft kids who are going to play in the NCAA and Kristo's skillset is right down Timmins' alley.

The 4 most important factors when evaluating prospects are speed, competitiveness, hockey IQ and character. Prospects who have all of these attributes are never bad picks because they rarely become busts. In Kristo's case the only thing that I wasn't sure of was his hockey IQ but from what I have seen, he seems to have good vision. He is such an explosive skater that when he gets the chance to play with better players he may very well be a real offensive threat.

Worst case scenario IMO with this player (injuries not withstanding) is he becomes a 3rd or 4th line energy player. To make such a safe pick with upside at #56 is really quite commendable on Timmins part.

Too many people get caught up in wanting to draft big players (the Leafs) but I will take small competive players over big soft players any day. The Red Wings have always had smaller teams and the Devils won their last Cup with a very small forward group. Danny Kristo appears to be the type of player who is willing to pay the price in big games and that attribute is surprisingly hard to find in professional athletes.

At best he seems like a less talented version of Daniel Briere. At worst, probably a Maxim Lapierre.

Great speed, hands, and vision. I'd love to see him on a line with Ben Maxwell one day.

I love this pick more because he was born on the same date as me. The only difference is I'm an 89 and he's a 90.

A very nice skater, with nice speed. Not bad for where we took him, I like it.

Guys...seriously. The puck is in the air. Never goes in the net. The only proof you need is Kristo's reaction on the play. He's right behind the net. If it went in you'd know it.

Looks like he's headed there in '09-'10. He'll spend next season in the USHL where he'll hopefully bulk up. I had heard he was going to ND in the fall but it appears it was wrong.

Isn't Mike Fisher much bigger? Or is he just as tall only much bigger physically?
