I thought that the rule was only 2 import players per protected list... Can you please clarify... And what is a minimum age for the imports?
I'll have to check the rule per protected list. I'm under the impression it's simply 2 per roster but I'm quite possibly wrong on that. Actually, as soon as you posted that I started doubting myself on the issue. I've a foggy memory of a situation in the OHL where a team selected a player who didn't come over and there was some hubub about retaining his rights even after they replaced the import slot via trade - I may have got ahead of myself with my thinking in the previous post based on that.
As for ages - born between '89 and '91 for the 2008 draft.
You were right. Only 2 per protected list (and not just on the roster as I previously said) and the rule is '89, '90, or 91 for b-dates in 2008. Apologies for the misinformation on the rights thingy. Some of it has changed over the years.

Don't apologize! Thank you for clarifying... I wasn't sure myself!
looking at the time-table for the import draft, if you are correct on the Quebec Rempart angle DK will be drafted at 1:40pm est on Thursday. I really hope you're wrong on the Remparts part of it....but I doubt you are.

99% - but I actually feel the same way about it as you do. While I do not know anything about Roy being a good or a bad coach, I doubt that Quebec would be a good league for DK to develop in.
1. No English
2. Stefanovitch would speak Russian to him at all times
3. Defensively he would not progress.
4. AHL would actually give hima bigger challenge and provide him with a foundation to built a strong NHL-like work ethic.
5. I just want him on the East coast of US! (homer reasoning)

He could also teach DK how to be the laziest player in the 'Q while being one of the most talented at the same time. One of my major beefs with Roy is that Stefanovitch will play a half-ass shift and get no flak then some 4rth liner working his but off makes a small mistake and gets chewed out for it in front of the entire arena. Roy just rubs me the wrong way as a coach in more ways than I can count. I really don't think any of his players have been better off for the experience outside of the benifit of ice-time and playing in a decent league. I wouldn't attribute any personal or team success in Quebec to Roy. (Outside of what his name is able to do in bringing in talent).
Stefanovitch would have been selected much higher Friday night if he displayed better work habits/attitude. The guy was top 10 talent....and I wouldn't have drafted him period with the way he mailed it in at times.
There are some truely fantastic, near brilliant coaches in the 'Q right now - Roy is not one of them IMO.
Can someone do a line/player (forwards) breakdown for Hershey along with ages of the players for 08/09 season... Wanna look at possibility of DK actually getting an offer right out of camp...

Rumblick was kind enough to do a breakdown of the Hershey roster on the stickied thread in the Caps forum here.
Good guess... But if I am - than Caps are in trouble - lets just say my skating is way below average!
Hmmm... That fits well with Kugryshev's profile too...
Quote:
he doesn’t posses burning speed, but his progression on skates is solid…can and should improve his speed, acceleration and first step…not elegant, especially when he tries the acceleration…impressive balance, especially on the boards…
very nice...just getting caught on the mahoney interview and he did express preference for Kugryshev to play major junior. Guess a reason to monitor qmjhl games now that bouchard/perreault are gone.
