Come on now, a late first pick should get you a perennial 100 points scorer. Under 25.

Wouldn't Bettman say "We have a trade to announce" at one point???

How come he didn't do it yet? Does he just wait a little longer in the mid-first round?

They haven't announced the confirmed Cammaleri deal, either. They do them before the pick for added drama. We won't hear about the trade officially for about an hour or whatever.

It's good the way Tuangay is a UFA next year, we'll need the cap space. Dont want a guy who's gonna be a big salary for 3 years stuck on the books. If habs can land Sundin too, that's practically a sick upgrade. A big time winger and center.

Thank you but I'll take an improving Cammalleri over an aging, moody Tanguay any day.

For what its worth, on RDS they said that a Montreal spokesperson said that not such deal was made....I know this means nothing, but keeps things spicy!..lol

I don't know how anyone would be upset about this trade. Tanguay wasn't spectacular last season but he still had respectable numbers and has been better than a point-per-game for most of his career. He's not old but has some experience...I think he'd be a great fit, especially if we only give up #25.

In an offense-first Habs system, his numbers will come back. From a pure talent perspective, this is a good deal.

Even If we did get Tanguay, I don't feel that he would bring us up to that notch of being a contender.

The deal with Jokinen traded to Phoenix has noting to to with Atlanta, yet it was announced before their pick...so not sure that they will wait till the Montreal or Calgary pick to announce it

The only thing I see in those stats is that Tanguay has been better in every single year. That "improving" Cammalleri is one year away from UFA. I'll take the better player, cup winner who's not a midget thank you.

Damn it, we should have went for Jokinen instead though. 25th + O'Byrne + Gorges would have done it probably considering what Phoenix gave up.

...Ballard.

There are mixed feeling by the phoenix fans on their board. They are happy they got Jokinen but sad they had to let go of Ballard.
