Because Nathan Horton is their leading goalscorer. They're going to find out just how big a role Jokinen had in their success.

It's something to discuss. It's a prospect board, and some of these kids will eventually belong to us.

I got the humor in what you said originally. But it was a good idea.

I think Florida's going to be in good shape, they have solid goal tending and a very good defence corps. If they play a defensive game they could be a tough team to play against.
Here's my list:

30- Atlanta
29- Toronto (witout Sundin)
28- NY Islanders
27- LA
26- Columbus
25- Tampa Bay
24- St. Louis
23- Buffalo

***The weird thing about this list is other then Tampa and LA all the teams have good goaltending.

Yeah, Florida has significently improved it's defense, which will be good news for top 10 NHL goaltender Tomas Vokoun. Matthias, and Frolik should be ready to make the jump, and Weiss and Horton are ready to carry the offense of the team.

However, they are a Marian Hossa away from being serious playoff contenders.

Allow the TFT coalition to begin- TANK FOR TAVARES

My bottom 5 for next year are:

1. Toronto
2. Atlanta
3. New York
4. Florida
5. Columbus

No Sundin will really expose this team, and even if we can't pick Tavares, we're still gonna get a franchise guy like a Hedman, or Brayden Schenn, or Svensson-Paajarvi.

As great of a draft we had this year, there's no doubt in my mind next year's draft is the draft that will truly be the beginning of a promising future, cause we'll no doubt get our best prospect from it.

iirc, in Gare Joyce's "Future greats and heartbreaks" he briefly mentioned how if Kessel would have been draft eligible the same year, there were scouts at that time who would have taken Kessel and not looked back. (Not that any of them would admit it now)

we have a very solid chance at getting tavares.. our team just plain sucks and i expect young players will get a lot of minutes so we could do very bad

the other teams i worry about are NYI, Atl, and Florida.. other then them i'd say we'll have the worst team next year if not the worst which is what i'm hoping for

think any other teams can possibly challenge us for worst in the league?

I think Florida will improve defensively but have a much tougher time pumping goals in when they need it the most.

Never know what Martin is planning though. For now I'll keep them in the bottom five unless he somehow pulls something off in the next couple of months.

Reading all of these rankings makes me think we should trade Kubina to Atlanta for their 1st next year. We might need to add Poni or Wellwood, but it would be worth having two 1st's possibly in the top 10.

Next year's draft looks awesome! I haven't seen all of the players but I would say Schenn and Duchene are my favourites and of course I also like Hedman. Wouldn't mind seeing us pick up Olivier Roy if we got another first round pick. Great goalie and only going to get better.

I hope Wilson doesn't work his magic and turn this team into a scrappy 8th place finisher!

His "knocking on the door in two years" comment makes me this he won't.

Looking at our team, what should be our team this year, it will be anemic offensively. It's going to be hard to find offense, as Sundin, the teams major provider, is likely gone. Defense might be prevelent, and we could end up losing a lot of games 2-1. I still see us destined for at the very least, another top ten selection.
