You might need to sweeten that pot a little... some pucks and water bottles maybe.

Ott's feet came off the ice after the hit.
Michalek turned towards the boards when he saw Ott coming.

Nothing dirty about that hit.

And Ott's "backing off" was the perfect thing to do. Why fight Joe straight up when you can goad him into an instigating penalty?

Some may see fear in Ott's eyes.. I saw a cocky punk attitude that said "Come on Joe. Lemme have it. Bring it on. This thing hasn't even started, but I've already got the last laugh.."

He put the good of the team ahead of his own personal bravado.

That sequence was a highlight of Ott's season. Too bad it was in a meaningless game.

The Dallas beat writer Mike Hieka who is plugged in suggested they would save a little cap space and likely acquire only 1 vet in FA in the 2-3 million range. They are looking at an offensive player to play with Riberio/Richards on the right side preferable a right shot (Iassume they are talking Ryder). I think the Avery thing is a luxury and way down the list of needs.

Funny, I don't remember that.

Must've worn off by the second round, I guess.
