I find it hard to believe Scotty would ever walk away from Detroit at this stage in his life, but I guess he does have a connection with the Chicago organization and maybe he wants to finish his career working with his son.

When you take into account both the family reasons and the 'rebirth' of the franchise both on and off the ice, it's a pretty good fit for a semi-retired hockey man. Having him there to evaluate and advise (or fire...) Tallon and Savard can't hurt.

Well since Bowman didn't end up in Toronto, his denial of the rumours ended up being accurate. I do not recall him denying having discussions with the Leafs, but discussions are something totally different from accepting an offer.
