Wow our prospect pool is really lacking. I know we've had a bunch of dudes graduate, so it's not that bad...but still.
Not sure how you can say that when we have four top six quality forwards (Cherepanov, Anisimov, Stepan, Grachev) and two top pair quality defenseman (Sanguinetti, Del Zotto) that still have yet to graduate.
Not to mention two goaltenders that are/will be at least NHL backup quality in less then two years. (Wiikman, LeNeveau).
I'm sure there are more then a few NHL franchises that wish they had that situation.
Add to Lundqvist, Dubinsky, Staal, Dawes, Tyutin, Girardi, Korpikoski, and Callahan.
With Prucha also up there, albeit on the fence. He still scored 30 and 22 in his still young career.
There are also an abundance of players who CAN be NHL material.
Byers, Hillier, Zaborsky, Potter, Sauer...
And a few i haven't even mentioned.
The Rangers are in fine shape, and so is their prospect pool.
Best shape it has been in in along time... when was the last time we had so much promise via homegrown talent.
Well, am I the only one who thinks Kerpikoski will surprise all of us and be a very good 2nd line player for years to come ? This guy has so much potential. Of course he can eventualy be the next comming of Marcel Hossa but something tells me this is not the case and that Korpedo has some unrealised potential. When I saw him play, he is complete player defensively and becomes better ofensively every time I see him. And please keep in mind that he as well as AA is still very young.
I like Anisimov too but for me Korpikoski is a winner here because I don't think there is such a gap in potential between the two.

Voted for Korpikoski.
i agree as well....people are writing him aff as a third liner...i think he will be a solid second liner who can put up 70 points and is defensively responsible

the crazy thing in that list is who there doesnt have a realisitc chance of becoming a second line player in the nhl?.....thats a ton of quality depth
What a change from a couple of years ago where we looking at that list and saying "jeez, lots of borderliners and 3/4 liners." I think Hillier is the only guy who's absolute ceiling is 3rd line, the rest (forwards) could easily be 2nd liners, and mayeb two or three with potential top line.

i agree, and before anyone says, but a lot of them wont reach their highest potential...i know, but its the fact that they have so many players who have that kind of potential....they have steadily made their system better and better.
and considering they still have the steady flow of third and 4th liners coming through as well this team looks good for the near fuiture
jessiman
byers
soryal
gratton
pyatt
dupont
potter
plus anyone who doesnt reach their full potential and anyone in the nhl right now

well i didn't write him off...think he can be a 70 point player and is a lock at the 3rd line at least.
