Dean Blais being the common link. He leaves the Jackets organization and sticks it to a Jackets prospect.

Dean Blais is an excellent coach and has put a lot of guys into the NHL when coaching North Dakota. He sees something in Moore the the Jackets don't. Maybe all the stuff about how good he is is just hype. He isn't exactly lighting up the OHL. Of course based on how the defense is playing this year, it wouldn't have be hard to excell in training camp.

This may not need the sarcasm.

Just one more question then...

Do we blame MacLean for this?

Savard has another great game yesterday with 2 assists. One of his assists was a pass. The other was a bullet shot from the point. It looked like he scored on it but it was determined to be deflected by his teammate.

Can't say enough about his defensive game. He made numerous nice plays in his own end.

Oops, I lied. I made the trip yesterday to see the game.

The Wildcats won 10-1.

Savard racking up more points yesterday including a goal on a two on one. He went for the pass and it went off the d-man's skate and in.

He's really playing well so far this year.

WTF is going on with Kevin Lynch?

I know he was a project taken in the 2nd round last year...but man, 1 point so far in his NCAA career in 18 games.

Anyone seen him this year? Whats going on?

I know he was touted as a checking centre who would never put up any major point totals, but I am wondering this also.

Quick question: Who is Savard regularly paired with on defense? Does he ever get time with Gormley?

If a draft pick by the Jackets is offensively deficient, the organ eye zation will consider him a gem, a real comer

Who according to some is a poor skater and lacks the speed to play the NHL game. Sounds like he's a blue jacket....

His skating didn't look bad at the WJC. And he was effective down low around the crease, where quickness is more important, rather than flat-out speed.

Seems like Kubalik's got the skill. Get him the best power skating coaches over the next few summers and maybe he can turn into something for the Jackets.

When in camp you could see he has great hands and he'll crash the net, I'd put him as a Martin Havlat type player. Does need to work on his speed though.

I actually like him as a player. I've just heard he's not expected to be an NHL player because of his skating and lack of attention to detail. The only negative I have is I think we're skating in the 80's and 90's....big and slow. You need balance and I just dont' think we have enough speed.

Kubalik is a few years away and I'll take guys with hands who can play on the 4th line vs guys who offer us nothing on the 4th line but a warm body. At least that gives Kubalik a chance to move up in the lineup if he is worth somethign in the future.

I know you've seen him in the WJC, but I live in Victoriaville so I've seen Kubalik in junior a few times. He really is a dominant player and I would be surprised if he doesn't become a good player in the NHL. He's got the size, he has a lot of talent and makes awesome passes. Even if he's an import in an all-french area, he seems well-liked by his teammates and the fans love him too. Yesterday he gave up a golden scoring opportunity to give the puck to the team's captain for his hat-trick. Great team player! I would really like him in our organization. He's a lot better than Andrej Nestrasil who's a Red Wings prospect.
