Here We Go Again! The Rank The Prospects Game (#2)

This one will probably come down to between Brassard and Filatov, I for one say Brassard, granted Filatov is probably much more talented, Brassard's a little more experienced and has dominated juniors and the AHL.

I decided to add Voracek anyway.

1. Jakub Voracek

I voted Brassard, I think Brassard will be the next one after Vorachek to make the team and produce. I think he will make the team this year but not put up great numbers until next. I would say Filatov but I think he needs to fill out a little more first.

I thought Russ wasn't considered a 'prospect' based on Mac's reasoning.

Anyway, Brassard. I'm glad the top 4 is so tight.

I voted Mason.

How is Brule even considered a prospect? He's played 146 NHL games! Russell has played 67. Neither of those two should be on this list. There is a prospect poll on the main boards and the cut-off is 55 games or so.

Agree. FWIW Mac's prospect ranking includes Gilbert but not Kris. Rationale being that GB was in the 'Cuse at the end of the season, or something like that.

that has nothing to do with who the top prospect is. Brule has already played, so i guess he should be the top prospect. top prospect is all about who the best will be when it is all said and done. not now, tom, or next year.

I voted for Filatov. I have Brassard as my #4 (Mason #3), I have some questions as far as his durability and how he'll hold up against physical NHL competition. Derrick, prove me wrong!!!

I picked Filatov because I think his versatility and crazy skills will have the bigger payoff in the future. Also, if he manages to grow into his body without sacrificing speed, he'll be a huge threat. It was close, but I applied a dash of wishful thinking and gave Filatov the edge over Brass.

That nice..

People in the 1st thread where using that criteria so thats what I went with. Last time I checked "#1 Prospect" isnt in the Dictionary so I will go with whatever understanding of it I want too.

I personally could care less who is the best when its all said and done, I care about who is going to produce and who is the first to move off the prospect list first. So I will stick with my reasoning, thanks for your opinion though.

In my opinion it would be the player who is going to have a significant impact on the Blue Jackets win column FIRST....
Someone right after said thats the reasoning they used as well. If you would like to use your criteria maybe we should make a thread titled, "Which Prospect is going to have the best career?".

The reason I left Russell off the other, was because he played a full season with us, but then again, I added him because the season before this past one, Brule played a full season. Frankly, it doesn't matter matter to me, we can have 'em both off or meh.

I chose Filatov. I think he has elite playmaking skills as well as elite scoring skills. Seems Brassard is more of an elite playmaker and above average scorer?

Edit: Does someone really think that Legein is our 2nd best prospect?

We're doing a board-wide poll to rank our prospects, we've done it the last few years. We'll eventually come up with our own top 10, 15, 20 depending on how far we want to go with it.

Hmm I guess I didn't "get it" last year or the year before either because I don't ever remember voting in one of these before. I have such a difficult time forming opinions on players I've not seen play in a north american game. I voted Voracek last time so I vote for someone else this time?

mmm ... Mason.

Voting! Fun! (I don't know jack either - yet I voted for Voracek and Mason in that order as well. Great minds and all.)

The conventional wisdom would pick Brassard, but I picked Nikita for reasons that his play stirs my loins. I believe he will have a GREAT year and we will truly benefit from his playmaking and scoring this year. BTW...I expect alot out of Brassard too

I went with Mason because I think he'll be the 2nd best player ... whenever he reaches the pros.

That's the way I roll.
