The All "I hate You" Canadiens Team

On the Islanders board,

they're doing a reverse All-Star team of all-time hated Islanders at each position.

Obviously, the Habs have had more great players than bad.

However, I'm sure you can come up with a team of players () you Habs fan couldn't stand.

Also, feel free to include a coach and GM you hated.

Just start in 1995-1996.

Most players will come between then and the early 2000's.

We had so many bad players in those years that couldn't play more than 20 games in a season. Brutal.

I guess Ribeiro and Samsonov will be mentioned first.

I started listing the whole rosters of those teams minus Koivu but my fingers were getting tired.

How about a team of all our drafted busts in the 90s. That'd be fun. And easier. If anyone has time.

Haven't been a fan for too long, so I'll do only the guys I've seen actually play

The positions might not be right

Sergei Samsonov - Eric Chouinard - Mariusz Czerkawski
Jonas Hoglund - Marc Bureau - Marcel Hossa
Sergei Berezin - Bryan Smolinski - Jim Cummins
Patrick Poulin - Francis Belanger - Gordie Dwyer

Janne Niinimaa - Karl Dykhuis
Patrick Traverse - Christian Laflamme
Ron Hainsey - Mathieu Dandenault

David Aebischer
Eric Fichaud

Probably missed some good ones...

I suggest Barry Richter, Christian Laflamme and Patrick Traverse on defense...

Houle has to be the GM, Tremblay (our version of him) would be my coach...

In goals, Pat Jablonski and Red Light Racicot for me!

Woops, forgot LaFlamme was a D-Man

Why did I think he was a center?

Anyway, switched him to D instead of Lachance (who was not bad)

Put Marc Bureau there instead

Would a team like that be able to win at least 1 game out of 82?

I think Niinimaa would excel with more ice time as number one D, so you never know.

You're right, I'll find somewhere for him.

What's funny is that he scored the 10,00th home goal and then left

As for Ribeiro....I went for players who we not only hated, but were just plain BAD

Ribeiro lead our team in points

Put Berezin over Darby.

Switch Cummins up to line 3, then replaced Juha with Gordie Dwyer..we need a fighter

Higgins played like what? 30-40 games over a few seasons?
Dave Manson, never liked the guy as a player
I'd put Malakhov on that list just for going skiing when he said he was still injured.
No one should add Zarley Zalapski....his name is just too fun to say that it omits him as a candidate.

And the team has to have Ribeiro, Dagenais and Theodore. And nobody hated Patrick Poulin. I had his jersey.

Dave Manson was quite likeable as a Habs IIRC.

Add Brisebois

No one was worse than LaFlamme.

I'm inclined on Andreas Dackell too because the guy could not score in a soccernet.

Traverse is a shoe-in.

Oleg Petrov and Richard Zednik being included in that list is blasphemy.

I never really hated anybody on the Habs except for Ribeiro. Brisebois was actually one of my favorite players prior to the lockout, but he pissed me off with how terrible he was this year. Every time he suited up I wanted to vomit.
