Chicago ~$4mill over cap

I have been reading that Chicago is about $4mil over the cap right now... I know that they will try to get rid of Khabibulin but I don't really see any takers for him (ott maybe?)

was wondering if anybody thinks it would be possible to swing a trade for a forward. Not Kane or Toews b/c that will never happend but somebody like Patrick Sharp.

thoughts?

I live in Chi-town so I don't know how much they'd be willing to give in a trade. Sharp would intrigue me but I doubt he's available. I'd like to take a run at Byfuglien.

I hope not. How frustrating would it be to finally have one legit winger, but one that gets injured all the time!

Well, if we can't fit Jagr back into the line-up, I'd have to say yes to taking a chance on Havlat. It's very iffy, but the options for a 1st line winger are few and far between, especially w/ the contracts the team already has. Hopefully Slats can get him on the cheap.

rumors of a LA-CHI trade to pick up Bulin's huge salary cap have been circulating for awhile.

Havlat has what , one year left on his contract?

I dont even know what it is, but he's the guy the Hawks would be most likely to bite the bullet and send packing

Havlat could be an option, but at what cost, and who wants to give up the assets needed to take him?

I'd honestly rather go with Jagr at that point...

Havlat will probably be the one to go. Khabibulin would be next.

Havlat is glass and isn't cheap, but the Hawks are well aware of that I'm sure. I doubt they'd be holding out for much in return.

That doesn't mean I want him near this team though. Unless the deal comes with a 'must play at least 75 games or we get Toews instead' clause.

Actually, has anyone ever heard of that being done with an injury prone player? Say he doesn't make it more than 60 games, the team gets a pick in compensation?

Havlat also has a $6MM cap figure. Thanks for playing. Drive home safely.
