On another note, Westcott said he's been in touch with Syracuse forward Joakim Lindstrom, and said that Lindstrom indicated he will play this season in Europe.
Didnt know if this was already out there. Feel free to merge if need be.

I was really hoping we'd give him a chance.

Not surprised, but I wish he'd be around for training camp. As I mentioned elsewhere, I thought he was finally turning into an asset on the ice. Seeing his improvement last season actually made me feel better about the slow progress of some of our other guys.

25 games last year with only 7 points. I would call that a decent chance.

I would have also liked him to have stuck around for training camp.

But in reality...he is just one more guy on a list of about 30 for our bottom 6. The best damn bottom six Doug MacLean could put together ill tell ya.

I heard about this a while ago and wished the rumor was false. I always was a big fan of Joakim and thought he always played well with the big club. The other player rumored to go to Europe is Clay Wilson and I really hope that is false. Call me crazy but I personally thought Wilson showed more promise than Russell in the 7 games he played. We need to get him under contract because I think he has a chance at making the team as maybe the 7th guy (depending on how we do on July 1st on defenseman).

Ambivalent on You-walk-him but agree on Wilson.

He'll be missed; I had a feeling he wouldn't ever make the team with Hitchcock in charge.

Lindstrom is just one of those guys who cant play "Hitch" hockey. Howson's just weeding the guys out that cant play it but adding guys that can.

He had his long look that was coming to him. Good luck in Europe, Youwalkin.

At this rate, he's looking good for first line duty.

Absolutely agree with you on Wilson. I thought he looked good on the pinch and showed real poise out there on defense.

It's too bad to see Jocke go back to Europe.

I checked a few Swedish sites, and there is some rumors of him being interested in playing for Skellefteå (Joakim's home town), but word is that he's still hoping to play in the NHL, and is hoping to be traded.

If he didn't fit into the Jackets' plans, it's a shame they didn't trade him to another team. I think he does have the talent to play in the NHL, but I don't see him fitting into Hitch's system.

He definitely has the skill, he just needs the freedom to be creative, which he didn't really have here, except maybe when Hitch was off grabbing snacks or something.

EDIT: On the other hand, if he does sign with Skellefteå, maybe I can get my AIK jersey personalized with his name/#

Where did you get an AIK jersey? That's sweet!

25 games with little ice-time. He did not get chance to show his qualities. By the way Brassard played 17 games with 2 points. Do yout think he got decent chance?
