Dammit. This stings. Oh well, Redden and Roszival it is.

Well this offseason certainly isn't going well. No Marleau, no #1 center, and Malone and Liles are both gone today.

This is terrible news! Now that the markets worse this is just going to drive prices up! Look for Rozsival and Streit to make an extra million than they were projected to now that J-M Liles is gone...

Gets worse, Stoll and Greene were dealt to LA for Visnovsky.

The only part that matters to us is the word STOLL.

No Liles, no Stoll, no... grrr.

I'm already getting annoyed, Scotty. I hope you have something good planned for the next few days.

I have to admit, those two names are giving me heartburn.

i was convinced we would snag Stoll because of Howson's connections to Edmonton. He better have a pretty good trump card....

I've been trying to stay on the optimistic side, but I may down a few Sam Adams tonight.

Only thing about Liles signing for 4M per year is he might lower the market for players of his style. Roszival might be in this category. I don't know anymore, hopefully Tuesday will be a total surprise, but I'm not holding out a lot of hope. All I know is that I'm glad I'm not a season ticket holder to stink on ice.

All I know is that if the only option we're left with is Hainsey at $4.5 million, I will scream. I like Hainsey, but only the $900K version.

A minor disappointment, but also establishes the market for players of Liles' caliber, basically 4 mil per is where the bidding will begin. Sounds high to start with, and with supply and demand fluctuating, of course we can't expect it to go any lower.

Bawwwwww no JM Liles? Marketplace now overvalued? Ron Hainsey at 4.5mil...?

BAWWWWWW

Who cares? We go through this song and dance every offseason: A drought of defensemen drives up the price and the winning bidders are left holding the bag.

Maybe the 'market value' of defensemen is truly that much higher? Is that so much a crime? How about we do what winning teams do and draft quality defensemen and investing in their development, instead of expecting a good defenseman at bargain basement prices?

**** aint outlet retail, it's sports business.

The first thing I thought when I saw the Liles signing was "Welcome back Hainsey"

I only hope it isn't for extreme overpayment.

Our only chance at Redden or any other top NHL FA, is if it's a 1 team league and we're the only team....and then only maybe

Even then we'ed probably get screwed....

Patience people, as in the Morrison case Howson must make some moves either by trade tonight or offers tomorrow. And his offers tomorrow will be market quality. We will have a couple of new names in the next few days, the only mystery imo are the names.
