Just add both of the current rosters.

I have a better game, compare all the NHL players from Calgary and all the players from Edmonton. Add the Edmonton players on the Oil and the Calgary players on the Flamers. These have to be current NHLers BTW.

The EDMONTON Oilers team:

Whitney-Langkow-Iginla
Christensen-Comrie-Lupul
Pettinger-Reinprecht-Pisani
Isbister-Chimera-Nichol
Brule
Strudwick

Niedermayer-Bouwmeester
Phaneuf-Morris
Sydor-Commodore
Ference
Matvichuk

Ward
Pogge

Now Calgary:

Heatley-XXX-XXX
Raymond-XXX-XXX
XXX-XXX-XXX
XXX-XXX-XXX

Phillips-Green
Smith-Sopel
XXX-XXX

XXX
XXX

Can someone please fill in the X'es? Because I am too lazy.

Not bad. Kiprusoff/Garon in goal of course.

So 8 of 12 forwards are Oilers but 2 of 3 Flames on the 1st line. I think that is fair and reflects what most of us think that Calgary has more high end players - the Oilers more depth. You also gave Edmonton 4 of the 6 dmen but we split the top 4 down the middle. In goal, of course, it depends which guy plays like last season or not.

Ya pretty much going into the season I would have Kipper and Garon splitting the games. Probably switch out a goalie after a loss or a hard back to back match-up.
As for 2 of three Flames on the 1st line I think you could interchange Cammy and Cole. I just put Cole ont eh 2nd because you have a power forward in Iginla already there.

Here would be one situation where I would be tempted to move Hemsky to LW if he had someone like Iginla playing RW on the 1st line.

That is very true, but I tried to keep the players to what they play. Other than Penner, but he played the right side in Anaheim, so he is only one year removed from that position.

since it seems as if both teams have finished making moves for the off-season, let's try this thread once more:

Lineups(Most realistic):

Calgary:
Bertuzzi-Langkow-Iginla
Cammalleri-Lombardi-Boyd
Bourque-Conroy-Moss
Glencross-Primeau-Roy

Phaneuf-Giordano
Regehr-Sarich
Vandermeer-Aucoin

Kiprusoff
McelHinney

Edmonton:
Cole-Horcoff-Hemsky
Nilsson-Cogliano-Gagner
Penner-Schremp-Pisani
Moreau-Brodziak-Pouliot

Visnovsky-Smid
Souray-Gilbert
Grebeshkov-Staios

Garon
Roloson

Compare....

Camalleri will play with Iginla and Bertuzzi won't be on the first line.
