Naslund to Rangers (link)

Update 3:51 p.m. I'm hearing Markus Naslund has signed with the New York Rangers. I'm being told 1yr - 4.5 million per season. Nothing confirmed yet. They had offers on the table to Demitra and Naslund.

Don't know if its B/S. Figured you guys might be interested. Delete if useless post.

This site got Orpik signing right. might be legit. Not a bad pick-up as long as it's under like 3 years.

Will be wierd seeing him in another teams jersey, but he deserves to go to a good team. Vancouver is just a mess right now and has no shot a cup. Considering that, I'll be rooting for the Rangers on the side. He should finally have some good centers and some skilled wingers. I expect no less than 65 points.

not bad for a one year deal. He's basically been a 2nd line player these past few years, but another "change of scenery" might help

I'm not sure what his play in general has been like lately though...it kind of sounded like he struggled as the main guy in vancouver lately and would float too much. Still, gives them needed offensive depth and if he sucks, he's gone anyways

enough left for a decent defenseman, and i'd call it a day

going to be a weird team next year

OK, I guess, I really didn't want him but what else can you do.

This obviously means Jagr is definitely not coming back, and Sundin is impossible, so the remaining money will be spent on that 3rd pair defenseman.

Used to be one of the best players in the NHL until he got elbowed by Steve Moore. That hit spawned the whole Bertuzzi sucker punch thing.

Just in case anyone didn't know.

I see a Naslund and Bertuzzi reunion on Broadway this season.

He hated playing in the Canucks ultra defensive approach the last couple seasons. I think he could rebound a bit with the Rangers and put up 25-30 goals and 60 points.

I just love Glen Sather. Even in this stupid capped league, he manages to succeed, keep us interested and he isn't done yet.

i think that depends whethe rit's 3.5 or 4.5 mil per, we have like some 11 mio left don't we?
now even with another dmen there should be someone else coming, i just can't imagine the rangers not spending to the cap

Naslund with Gomez or Drury is an awesome pairing. He'll get 30 goals again easily.
