This is how MacT sees it...

"We have to persevere through this phase,'' said MacTavish. "We have to survive the next couple of weeks, keep ourselves at .500 through these next two weeks till we get healthy then try to go on a run where you play .800 or .750 down the stretchy to the end."
So following this model, this is where it'd get the Oilers:

They have 6 games left this month, 2 at home against the Nucks and Wings, 4 on the road against the Avs, Ducks, Yotes and Stars. If they manage to get 6 points out of those 6 games, that leaves the Oilers with 62 points in 65 games.

If they .800 hockey the rest of the way after that (27 out of a possible 34 points), that would leave them at 89 points, hovering right around where the playoff water mark should be.

This team needs a miracle...and even then it only gets them a date with Colorado or Detroit with a freshly returned Hatcher.
