I really like Cullimore - he's just a solid, smart defenseman. I would rather him than a gimpy Van Ryn. If you put Cullimore next to Welch on the 3rd pairing it could also help Noah's development.
Monty, if we keep, should be a forward. He's got some touch and scored more than any other grinding line forward on our team! However, we do have a "glut" of forwards right?
We need all the players we can get. Our injuries are always horrible every single season. At least this year it seems we're ready for it.
Good! That's great news for us because Boyle is good for a goal against per game. Glad he's staying because honestly, they would have improved without him on the roster.
That's what dumbass Feaster gets for giving everyone and their mother a no trade clause.
Guess that puts them out of the Jagr-stakes. Are you paying attention, Martin?
No doubt. I wouldn't mind the Panther killer here, but I don't want him coming here to retire, either. In other words, I want him to come here and play, not do what others have done.
I would have liked to have Feds here, but not Satan. Guess they'll be Malkin's new linemates?

To me Feds means Federov, whom I believe is also available...hmmm...
The more I think about it the less I'd want Jagr - if we traded Olli b/c we didn't like his "work ethic," then what about Jagr's tendencies to float & mope??? Is that really what we want for our young developing kids? I don't know. He would be an immediate top scorer on our team and would command lots of attention, thus freeing up Horton, Booth & Stillman to score though. Ugh. I just don't think we're making any more moves via FA though.
Their screwed and are going to have to pay a penalty for going over the cap if they can't trade someone away!!! Somebody must have forgot to check their math before all those signings but it's kind of understandeable because the guy had to add up like 76 contracts!!!
There is a buyout period that ended on June 30th so that is not an option anymore. Trading either one of those guys for picks isnt that likely as there are cheaper options out there for bottom line players or teams wont want to give up picks for either of them.
oops, yeah! should have been just "trade" in that post! Thanks, fixed!
"I played in Florida, but I feel Tampa is really where I started my career. I can't ask for more than to want to play for the city and play for the jersey."
Nice little dig there Boyle. Makes me glad I boo'd you last July. I hope TB's stuck with him and he ends up eating Panther poo every single game he plays us.

I think the dig is warranted - he was never given a chance in Florida because he wasn't a "Keenan-type." He excelled in Tampa. I'd be a bit resentful of Florida too, if I weren't smart enough to realize that the management and coaching have both changed.
$8M, but I didn't catch if that was per season or over the two-year deal. They've signed him instead of waiting for Jagr, and Sather suggested that Jagr's most likely going to take up an offer for a big payout to play in Russia. Which seems awfully odd for a Czech who wears #68 on his back, if you know your Cold War history.

Is that why he wears 68? Very interesting if true.
