CuJo to the Leafs as expected.

I think we're thinking of the same person.

*sigh*

I'm supposing that's not a good sign. I can understand the logic of dealing him since he seems intent (much as we don't like to think of it or admit it) to leave this team next year anyway, but I still don't like to hear of it.

Vermette, Meszaros, Neil for Bouw, Belak and Van Ryn but it will never happen

I feel I'm in the minority when saying that I wouldn't mind seeing Bo moved. He hasn't impressed me since he came into the league. Guess I'll chalk that up to listening to scouts and believing them. If Bo does end up in Ott. Spezza won't be coming here. I can see Vermette, Fischer and possibly mezaros or kelly.

Right, no chance at Spezza. It would have had to have been Jokinen/Bouwmeester involved or maybe Horton/Bouwmeester for Spezza which I just don't see happening from either side.

The names thrown out are pretty much what it would be around - Vermette being the centerpiece.

Ugh, I really hate our team right now. How does a 27 goal Vrbata (playing for Phoenix too) get 3 mil per in Tampa??? Just unbelievable. Please let us steal Rolston away...please please please!

Wild have also traded for Marek Zidlicky. JM fiddles away in the meantime.

I know this is a way not likely, but there is talk on the Ottawa boards that Murray is talking to Spezza.....Spezza for Jbo anyone?

Rolston has received 10 offers already (according to eklund at hockeybuzz). If the panthers are even one of those teams, which is unlikely, how much do you want to bet its the lowest offer???)

One of the few players I would trade Bouw for. If we could get Spezza, I would be one happy sob.

Much as I don't want to rain on a parade, this is highly unlikely so it's best not to get your hopes up and then be let down.

TSN is reporting that Sundin has 4 offers on the table including a multi-year offer at $10 mil per. What's the individual player Cap again?

Wandered over to the Ottawa Sun to see if their blogs had anything about Spezza...found our highly unreliable Bruce Garrioch (who did call the Cole/Pitkanen trade earlier) saying Campbell was likely headed to Chicago, the Rangers are making a big push for Wade Redden, but he's also gotten serious attention from Columbus and - get this - the Panthers!!

If that's the case, JBo's definitely involved in that deal.

Yeah, if we sign Redden, Bouw is as good as gone. But at least we will get a solid top 2 d-men who will be cheaper than Bouw and hopefully a first liner in the trade involving Bouw of course.

He's been saying that for weeks. I think it more likely that he forgot to read the Press Release announcing the Jokinen trade and is still recycling his old BS.

Isnt Redden a FA? If so, why would we have to trade for him?

When I'd posted I wasn't thinking Redden was UFA - I should have remembered that - but the thought still works out right in the end

We already have too many dmen - unless we somehow find a way to afford Allen, JBo, Redden, Boynton, and Ballard (an awesome force on the blueline that group) - and JBo gets signed - a highly unlikely proposition - then the Panthers must move one of them, and JBo is the most likely guy to be gone.

I think Redden goes to Columbus.

In the unlikely event Redden is signed it would be to replace a traded Bouw.
