Yeah, and they acquired that spare tire around his waist!

I would def take Redden & a Bouwmeester trade. Redden would be a force on our defense - he is what I hope Bouwmeester becomes and he could mentor guys like Ellerby & Ballard. Trade Bouw to bring some elite forward, sign Redden to replace him - I could live with that.

What I can't live with is us doing NOTHING.

TSN has Pittsburgh resigning Mark Eaton.

I know, I know - stop the presses...

Garrioch now saying Vancouver has put a 2-year $20M offer to Sundin in a big push to land him.

If true, he will help them. He was playing injured last season. Year before he had a
.910 save %. He's 38 but goalies can play effectively into their 40's.

How much cap space does Vancouver have, anyway? Hard to imagine them putting $10M on one player.

Guess Naslund's leaving town - he's a free agent today, too, right?

Hey, maybe JM will sign Naslund and Bertuzzi?

Yeah and I read that they were trying hard to keep naslund, but I guess it failed if they are offering Sundin that kind of money. Man, I hope the Panthers can sign Naslund or Demitra or Ryder or Rolston. There's so many guys that can help the offense big time for next season...

All the teams around us seem to be improving and our offense has gotten worse.

Pessimistic for the sake of pessimistic?

This board is getting ridiculous. People are attacking other people (not saying you are) for voicing their opinions.

People are going to be negative after 7 years of sucking ass. What do you really expect?

Tampa has VASTLY improved, and guess what? THEY'RE IN OUR DIVISION. What about Carolina? Pitkanen for Cole is a great deal for them. Other teams have just begun making moves.

We've made our moves on draft day so I'm really afraid that we're done. I just hope that this damn GM of ours isn't happy with this group of forwards.

Because they are realistic and have gone through this year, after year, after year, after year, after year, after year, after year, after year.

I understand what you're saying, I think all of us are pretty damn frustrated with this organization, but I have faith Martin will bring in at least one top 6 forward, HE HAS TO. There's a gaping hole up front now that Jokinen is gone, he can not be seriously satisfied with this group of forwards, who for the most part work hard, but you need to score goals to win and we don't even have 2 full scoring lines, so he has to be looking at someone..

I'm getting more and more sick of this team as the hours/days go by.

Other teams are improving, while we sit here with our thumbs up our butts.

I'm in the philosophy where you have to pay to play. Come on, two, hell even one superstar scorer would be nice..

But noooooo...

Not the Panthers...

Yup, we are the laughing stock of this league. AHL's Florida Panthers.

ok, so you listed two teams who have made moves. far cry from "everyone", now wouldn't you say?

we're all frustrated...but when you regugitate the same stuff over and over when it's not warrented, well, that's even more frustrating.

and while it's a matter of opinion, i'd rather the canes have pitkanen than erik cole. unless pitkanen actually maximizes his potential....but his career is taking a similar path as janne niinimaa's at this point and that's not a compliment.
