Orpik resigns with the Penguins.

Our defense is pretty nice as is anyway. Get Jagr and I'd be a happy man!

Orpik signs with Pittsburgh 5 year 22 million. According to Eklund.

Man I really wanted this player. I hope Staal, Girardi and Potter are eating their cheerios and loading up on steroids because after losing Fedor we are gonna get pushed around back there. Not that I mind getting Zherdev.

Can't believe Orpik is going to be making only 250k/year more than Jeff Finger

Main thing is this REALLY helps the Forward group and Jagr coming back will finish things off upfront.......It will go down now for sure......Imagine Zherdev, Dubinsky , Jagr..........sweeet

I am ok with their 5,6,7 guys being either cheap veterans(toughness) or some young guys like Potter and Sanguinetti

So the Forward group now looks alot different and who knows what else will happen

6 years 22.5 according to TSN. 3.75 per year. Good price, but a bit long.

Gotta believe Slats coulda beaten that if he wanted to do so - guess he has other plans for the D.

Consider me one that is relieved Orpik isn't coming to NY. He has one good year, a contract year btw, otherwise he's been sorta meh'.

The main thing is the top 4 D are real solid

Redden , Girardi
Staal, Rozsival

The final two spots are likely to go to FA's............it really won't surprise me if Struds or Hutchinson are resigned

I think alot of people forget about Pock........he is a good player but was never given a shot so maybe this is his shot

I won't be surprised at all if Mara returns..............

I am sure there are other names that are cheaper that will come out

I wouldn't exactly act like Huselius and Zherdev are of equal worth.

What? Sather didn't want to one up the Wings and sign Marcel to a one-year contract worth 8M? Color me disappointed.
