I like Rolston, but I don't know if I wanted him on that contract.

Yeah, I would have liked him, too. But as others have said... Will we feel the same way when he's 39? A four year deal is big for an older player.

These term lengths are getting INSANE these days.... I hate it.

So far Im glad we've made NONE of these ridiculous pickups. They're garbage deals [mostly]

thank god for that. 5 mill per for 4 years!

excellent job on not biting on that Slates!

Hes doing a fantastic job so far, lets hope he keeps it up!

I like our signings so far, hes not panicking and might leave us in great shape to pick up Jagr on a discount as it seems (from what I'm reading) that we're gonna get rosie back on a discount... still inthe Sundin sweepstakes but if its anywhere near 8 million, i dont want him.. rather go with the kids.

Have to agree with this, at least we've not thrown money at anything e.g. Jeff Finger

i dont think he will be getting that long of a contract as campbell got 8 years for 7.1......i could see redden getting 5.5-6 for 4 years

Thank god we didn't bite on Rolston for 4 years. This is exactly the type of signing that the Rangers would have done before the strike. Same with Campbell. All these GM's who preached restrain are now shooting their loads on has beens and never was'. No way that Campbell is worth that kind of money. Its insane!!!!

If it 4 years, then its Redden as a touche to the Devils. Redden against Rolston.

I'd have to see the contracts, but Redden might be a better move if the Rangers can get a winger for gomez
