Jagr @ 6m for 2 years >>>>>> Hossa @ 8 millions for 6+ years
Jagr is my plan B before Hossa since he would be a lot less hassle and commitment but i'm 95 % certain that Bob will target Hossa before Jagr.

Kypreos on sportsnet made it sound as though Jagr is the guy we'll end up with. Like Sundin he'd be interested in a 2 year 15 million dollar deal, which is what we're interested in.
Kostitsyn-Plekanec-Kovalev
Tanguay-Koivu-Jagr
Higgins-Chipchura-Latendresse
Begin-Lapierre-Kostopoulos
Not bad.

I'd rather have a Marian Hossa, or any highly skilled forward with a two way game.
I'm just not a fan of Jagr's game nowadays, and feel like you could get so much more for the price you'd pay for him.

Could you imagine our powerplay with Jagr and Kovalev...........the puck possession for 2 minutes would be insane.

Would Yashin be an option?
Not sure he he would want to come back or if he can (I think that his current contract in Russia allows him to leave if he signs with an NHL team). He fits the size and skill bill, maybe not just quite hardworking..... I remember Gainey not wanting to sign him last year while in the hunt for Briere...but who knows?

Its the only place that makes sense.
1. Hes signing with a real contender
2. Montreal is an Awesome hockey town if not the best. He will thrive in the traditions. His GF will dig the city and all it has to offer.
3. He'll be $$$ on that PP

Granted, from the outsider's eye with the Habs in the market for an impact forward, those would seem to be the options.
But we haven't heard or seen anything to confirm that Gainey is talking to the Jagr camp at all.

Jagr "specifically" mentioned Montreal as an interesting place to perhaps play someday. Said he would like to try playing in Canada
