"I just heard from a source that Huet asked the Caps for three years, $15 million and the Caps offered it to him. But Huet told them he wanted test the market today and see what might be out there. Now it's looking like he'll sign a four year deal with Chicago for $5.6 million per."
They still haven't touched their blueline though, that's the part that confuses the hell out of me. What is Feaster doing? Or is he playing the part of Garth Snow in this farce now?
Yeah, I don't get that either - and the whole Dan Boyle thing is confusing. When Bob McKenzie says they are shopping him, I believe it. It's my understanding that Brian Lawton is basically running the show now. I don't know what role Feaster really has anymore, except in title only.
Doesn't that give Chicago 12 million divided between 2 goalies now though? That's insane. Unless they have a deal in place to move Bulin to somewhere like LA or Ottawa.
That may have been the idea, now teams like Los Angeles and Ottawa are forced to potentially negotiate with Chicago. Chicago now has the opportunity to add another offensive weapon (like Frolov or Spezza) in a deal that would send Khabibulin on his way elsewhere.
