Has Atlanta signed anyone yet? They were well below the cap floor.

They were trying for Campbell. Honestly, if Atlanta doesn't get Tavares/Hedman next year I'd be pretty surprised.

Hordichuk signs with Canucks - 2 years deal... So much of that trade for us.

They'll lose Kovalchuk by going after those two.

I have the show on and didn't hear that particular quote. They just said it was highly unlikely he'd sign today but stranger things have happened.

Stillman signed a multi-year contract worth $3 mil per with the Panthers. Forgot the amount of years, it was 2 or 3 IIRC

Commodore signed a 5 year deal worth $3.75 mil per with Columbus.

So in the end, our trade with Ottawa went like this:

To Carolina:
Joe Corvo
Patrick Eaves

To Ottawa:
Nothing

I believe we win this deal

It was when he was doing his remote piece from Edmonton. But you're right, who knows!

hahaha ya when talking about the bad signings, which he referred to as sheer "lunacy", he mentioned the Finger and Commodore deals.

sweet mother of god, there's absolutely no way Redden is worth 6.5 per anymore. Babchuk and Vaananen at 1 million each are looking like the two best signings so far.

Some of the GMs around the league are absolutely insane. I'm glad JR hasn't done anything to piss me off......yet

Michael Ryder signs with Boston, 3yrs @ $4 million per season:

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=242206

Sorry to disappoint all those people in that ridiculous thread on the Trade board who thought he would come here! Still plenty of time for a surprise Smolinksi signing, though

I wish we had been in line for Vaananen instead of Melichar.

Why are you so locked in Melichar? JR said we will get improvement compared to what we have. Melichar is worse than Wallin. Why would we need him?

Because JR said we were after a player who played in the NHL two years ago and went to europe.

1. Do you think this team has the budget for Markov?

2. There was a report that Carolina had contacted Melichar.

3. Who else is there?

1. Do you think this team has the budget for Markov? (yes, if Markov wants to play in NHL and nobody else is interested)

2. There was a report that Carolina had contacted Melichar. (sorry, didn't see a report)

3. Who else is there?(nobody, but why bringing someone from europe and keep Borer in AHL, when Borer is likely to play better than Melichar now?)

It's just i don't get why bringing junk from europe when we a) have plenty of our own; b) be better of developing our only defensive prospect Borer

EDIT: It could be Melichar at the end, but i refuse to understand the move.
