Tired of being pushed around by Anaheim. McGrattan and Fedoruk just made Coyotes one of the tougher teams in the West.

Didn't the Wild try this same strategy down the stretch with Fedoruk, Simon and Boogard to little effect?

The same kind of side show if Philly signed Laraque to play with Downie and Cote.

Coyotes will soon be much better than the Wild.

How many posts does Don Maloney have. Pulling the "post count card" is the weakest thing you can do on HF. All you've done with that comment is make yourself look foolish. Besides, he's got a decent argument. I don't blame him at all for not buying a team who's average age will likely be about 23 years old. If the Coyotes had some success this season, they would be the exception, rather than the rule when it comes to teams this young.

BTW, I post ten times a day, and I almost never know what I'm talking about.

As for Fedoruk, I hate his guts, and I'm disgusted that he's a Phoenix Coyote.

As for the deal, I have know I idea why an injury prone goon deserves a three year commitment. It seems absolutely ridiculous, to me. I just haven't a clue what Phoenix is thinking with this one. I guess I'll just hope, in vein, that it's a two-way deal.

Four years is a bit much, but the cap-hit is nice and low, so if he doesn't work out, we'll probably be able to deal him, despite the length of the contract.

Phoenix needed some serious help as far as defensive depth is concerned. Also, our PK was in desperate need of help, as well. Sauer should address both of these areas. Hopefully he's being looked at as a third pairing guy, by our management, and we'll also go after a guy who we think can eat up even more minutes, as a second pairing defender.

VERY solid signing. He was the shutdown defenseman of the Avs in the playoffs along with Adam Foote. A very good player for that price.

Great signing - very reasonable for a dependable defensive D-man. Was also hoping the Oil would sign this guy.

This is one of the most sensible signings of the day. He probably won't ever be a consistent Top-4 guy, but he'll eat minutes on the PK and you know what you'll get with him. At this price on the open market, heck, I wish the Avs would have kept him.

He's not far off from Finger, and look what he got.

Fridge can play- let Carcillo and McGrattan handle the funny stuff.

I bet he fits in nicely down there, he'll create space for Turris and Co.

Yeah, well that's the other extreme.

You can't just come out and say a team will finish in the bottom of the standings and not back it up at all with any rationalization. That's useless contribution. I'm not a major poster myself but when you've contributed 3-4 times in your lifetime and make bold predicitons without backing them up, it's ridiculous.

You guys will be happy with him. I had hoped he would resign here.

For those that asked, he is big, decent checker, pretty good positionally. Not too strong on the offensive side, not very quick, but he did end up in fairly big roles in the playoffs for the Av's, and if I recall correctly the first Anaheim finals appearance.

3 years is too much for fridge, but Sauer is a nice signing. I thought he would get more.

By the way, I believe the figure on Fedoruk is 3 years, 3.1 million, 1.03 per.
