They only have $6M in cap space after the lastest moves. Unless they find a take for Rolosieve, this likely won't be happening.

Wow if this were to be true Edmonton would probably be a top team next season.

Like I said last night...I shouldn't like giving Hossa 9M but I would love to see Lowe put an end to all the talk that no one wants to play in Edmonton. This would just prove that everyone has their price.

They would be a top team, but it's unlikely to happen

Can go 10% over the cap, to 61 million, so.....they could and then pare down.

There is a 10% window until the season starts. Roloson is the contract to move...but if the cap doesn't jump yet again things get dicey 2-3 years from now with Gagner and Cogliano. You make room for a guy like Hossa though.

Umm, didn't Edmonton just trade for a top-line RW?

The Team1260 reported this last night so it might still have a possibility of being true....although once Eklund calls it the hockey gods go to work.

Eklund owes us Oiler fans one after the whole Smyth "signing".

The Edmonton papers today are all saying the same thing, that Lowe is going to make a $9 million push for Hossa. That would be quite a nice way to cap of the recent dealing, no?

well, Darryl Katz isn't a cheap ******* like the rest of them. I'd say Cole is a legit 2nd line RW.

Hemsky could probably move to the left side or be moved to the 2nd line. Hemsky shoots right and Hossa shoots left.

just because the owner wants a player doesn't mean the deal happens

I think there is about 5% chance Hossa even thought about Oilers.

Roli signed past 35, waiving/buying him out would do nothing to his cap hit. Trading is the only way to remove/lower his cap hit.

So, Hossa's going to make Ovechkin money?

Seriously, this makes no sense. 9 milllion is ...well, high. And Edmonton is not exactly a top contending team.
