Moreau

So I got my Moreau 3rd Pro 25th aniversary jersey a whil ago. He's gotten 4 goals since and seems to have stepped it up. I keep getting approached at work by people when I wear it (every game day) saying that he's not going to be able to carry the whole team on his back for the rest of the season. It's kinda funny. Anyway, I finally got it, and I'm very proud of it and I hope he signs with us again after his current contract ends. He's playing well and I hate to see where we'd be without him.

P.S.- haven't posted in a while due to computer restrictions but I've been reading often, so welcome to the new posters here and hey to all the others.

I really like Ethan as well and just think about it, everything he has done Smyth has as well. The difference is paycheck and expectations.

I was really happy when we inked Moreau long-term. He is my 3rd favorite Oiler (soon to be 2nd when Smith gets the boot)

Moreau is my second favorite Oiler behind York, and I agree, he's a lynchpin 3rd liner. One of the best in the league. Build a 3rd line around him and guys like him, and you're golden.

Does anyone else remember this?

Moreau wasn't always this great or powerful of a skater. I remember he came back from one summer off and he was improved like almost 100%. Was it his brother he worked with?

i totally agree with everything everyone has written about moreau. in a season of inconsistency, he's been the one and maybe only oiler who's brought his game every night. for the life of me i can't figure out why some media guys (stauffer) are all over moreau. the guy might get 20 goals, has more grit than any other forward and arguably anybody on the team, kills penalties, fights, hits etc. and he ripped up his old contract and signed for less money (although for a longer term) so he could stay here. the best part of about this guy is when he gets the puck there's no dancing around, making some stupid drop pass between his legs to no one in particular. you know he's either going to shoot it (and he's got a WAY better shot than i remember having a couple years ago) or going HARD to the net and not stopping until he hits the goalie or the crossbar. over the last several years the old checking line of grier, marchant and moreau was the subject of alot of rumors about who would be moved etc and i'd never have believed that moreau would still be here long after the other two were gone, but in my opinion, he's now the face of the oilers taking over from ryan smyth. in my opinion, mvp of the team this year and the only guy that's even close is mike york.

His quotes are also becoming more to the point and thus impressive

and means he'll be the next captain when Smith is dealt

i think moreau is absolutly usless. he is a dirty player, he fights wimps at the wrong time in the game and he flukes out with goals. He has no talent and is worthless. trade him and smith for some good players...hell for draft picks i dont like either of em

I almost got mad and then I remembered I don't know you from a hole in the sidewalk that I have to step over to get to work.

I think that he's the most consistent player over the last three years- taking into account his work ethic and intensity, injuries, important goals, grit, and defensive awareness, that we've had. I have finally gotten the jersey, and I am damn proud wearing it.
