Just hope that he isn't given a regular shift. Last season Keenan played Godard a lot more than he should have, and that resulted in a lot of goals against. He has one duty, fighting. When he isn't fighting he's completely useless. He's a great fighter though, probably one of the best in the league.
Keenan thought he could be an every day player and he is not. He has decent speed and can fight, but if you play him 82 games a year or expect anything else, it's too much. Ideally he plays 20 games a year against tough opponents and fights once or twice in his 4 minutes of ice time. He's a solid guy.
Great ink-job too. I thought he improved his game greatly last year. He might not be an every day player yet, but compared to previous seasons it was a much better Eric Godard this season. His skating was improved beyond belief.
He started believing he was a regular player. That is the kiss of death for this type of player. At first, he was great stepping up and defending the stars but that kind of tailed off in time. If he sticks to his game, he can be great.
he is good if you need someone to throw punches and to keep other players a lil bit honest around crosby and they such.... but you might as well not even put a stick in his hand.... he was useless to do anything besides fighting........but i guess everyone has their niche
