From the way the frenzy is shaping up...

We're going to need this guy to be his former self. We're going to need 25+ goals from a capable Petr Prucha. Let him play with Gomez and see what happens. Get to work Petr.

I think it still remains to be seen if Prucha is the player he was. Or the player he is now. Even if you split the difference, I'm not sure that's enough.

I think he can play well with Gomez. He just needs to be left on the line for an extended period of time and not pulled if they don't produce right away.

We'll see, but I'm going to have a hard time justifying dropping a grand to watch Prucha, Callahan, Sjostrom, Dawes, Voros, Korpikoski hit the ice as our top wingers.

Prucha is the new marcel hossa... he just needs a chance... he just needs another chance... when will people actually realize that his rookie year was a fluke.

The only thing that's going to be magic in Prucha's hands is Jagr's vacuum

Yeah... except Marcel Hossa was given top line minutes for consecutive weeks. Prucha has been a perennial third liner ever since that first year.

Give him another chance at least. If it doesn't work out then so be it

In all honesty he never really got a legit chance to stand on his own away from Jagr with one of the new centers for any reasonable period of time. Unless Sather has something in the works it appears as though he will have a final opportunity to prove he belongs.

he's going to have to, thats for sure.

Pru, Dawes, Dubi all need to step up and contribute consistantly for us to have a chance.

And the year after that was a.. what? Another fluke?

It's completely impossible that his dip in performance can be attributed in part to the arrival of Shanny? The fact that he scored fewer goals had nothing to do with being moved down in the lineup and getting less PP time?

I'm not saying he's going to be a perennial 30 goal scorer, but to call what he did with Jagr in his first season a fluke, and then come back and praise Dubinsky for what he did with Jagr this year is more than a little hypocritical, yeah?

I'm not singling you out Rags, but there is a lot of unnecessary hate for Prucha on this board.

The difference in Prucha has simply been the arrival of Shanahan. Shanahan took away his powerplay time and Prucha did a lot on the powerplay. He's very good around the net despite his small size due to his very quick reactions.

Secondly, Prucha should be given a legit chance on either Drury's or Gomez's line. Prucha's style should fit good with either of them although his style doesn't fit with Jagr at all.

The problem still on this team is that there are no good passers outside of Gomez. Straka was the closest thing and that is what they need. Prucha, Callahan, and Dubinsky all don't create enough with the passing. Drury as well. They can all finish a bit though.

Still feel good things coming from both Prucha and Backman.

Were seriously screwed without Jagr right now. And even then... Jesus... I mean I doubt we can even tank the season for Tabares with the defensive system we play. But we are going to be stuck in mediocrity.

I agree with what most are thinking, a trade has to be in the works. You know if JJ comes someone is coming with him. I don't know if it will be Sundin, Naslund, Satan, or someone.

I think we are going to try and play a defensive style to compensate for the lack of offensive power up front and then capitalize on powerplay chances with Redden QB'ing. Could be in for some boring hockey, but we might not be doomed. And who knows, still freeagents out there who can score. Maybe a deal for a goal scorer will get done. We'll see.

I think a trade is coming, sather is adding some size but those are depth players. Prucha, dawes. callahan, drury, and gomez... we need some size. I can see sather moving prucha, freeing up some money. I am not saying that is the best move, trading a player when they are coming off a bad season not the best time, but i think we are small up front, sather knows that and may deal a prucha without giving him a chance to prove his worth

ive always been a huge fan of petr puck. This is a great opportunity for him. He deserves at least a shot on the top 2 lines. The kids always done what has been asked of him.
