What do you think?
If Anaheim is interested in sending back a draft pick with Schneider then maybe for Dandy.

Todd at not more than 1-1.5 might be interesting, but if what is said about him and his lockerroom issues are true then I don't know?

I wouldn't be opposed to either so long as Schneider didn't cost too much in the trade (Grabo, Dandy, Locke). Bert has a lot to prove and I believe Gainey was after him at the deadline a few years back.

Would Naslund be likely to join the mix as well then?

Bouillon and Dandenault for Schneider... saves Ducks a couple million in cap space and they can buy out Dandenault too if they really want since Gainey won't.

Also what's the deal with Selanne? Is he coming back for another year?

I wonder about Big Birt. I say not a good fit. Schneider would be nice.

It's time to make a big splash Bob...

Bertuzzi 3M/1year
Naslund 9M/2 years

I can live with a line of Bertuzzi-Koivu-Naslund...

wow, is Bert washed up? I have only seen a little of him since the "incident" and he hasn't looked like half the player he used to be.

Schneider would be a nice pickup, especially if it means Brisebois won't be back and if it doesn't cost much too much to land him. Would boost our offense from the blueline but then O'B or Gorges might not see much ice time. If we got Schneider I might have to break out nhl '94 and play a few games.

Yes, the Habs version of Steve Thomas and Shayne Corson, let's trade some 1st round draft picks while we're at it.

Again, how does Bertuzzi fit into the speed and skill mentality that Gainey wants to give his team?

No match. Bertuzzi is a typical Leaf signing...

Schneider makes 5.75 and only has 1 year left...wouldn't be a bad fit...but I'm pretty sure they'd want something in return...not just a salary dump.

I think they'd want Subban or a 1st rounder(or thereabouts). I don't think I'd pay that much at this point(maybe in February)

Anaheim is almost against the cap(54 mil comitted) and they only have Perry Getzlav and Kunitz signed as top 6 forwards(plus maybe Ryan)...Selanne Weight and Bertuzzi are UFA's.

Only speculation on my part, but if I were Bob, here is who I would go after.

Sergei Federov on a 1 year deal

Pavel Demitra on a 2-3 year deal.

I was suggesting Scneider in another thread, I think it makes all kinds of sense. The other forward, Bertuzzi, Naslund, I think someone's being pursued, I favor it just for the hf excitement value, I wonder if leaving things alone might not be best.

I'm not a fan of Fedorov and I think if he return it's in Washington only.

Demitra might be worth a look, but he's injury prone...it would be my plan E or F and inlude 2-3 mil base salary and 2-3 in performance bonuses.

Thats a lot of money tied up into three Dmen in Schnieder, Markov and Hammer...not to mention Kommy needs to be re-signed to a long term before next summer UFA as well.

We would have to dump salary to the Ducks who are trying to shed some themselves, and we have an abundance of Dmen moving up as well.

I watched Fedorov in Columbus. His sense of urgency during line changes was something to behold. It was like he was going to stop and have a beer on the way to the bench

That would have been a big splash in 2002.

We're not the Colorado Avalanche here!

Then what...we have to read LW and Beak posts about each other.

Okay we'll take Beauchemin as compensation for Schneider's contract...you want action, we'll give you action

Then Burke can sign Naslund, Bert and trade for the Sedins
