Way to get a Girls hope up! I've said more then once that I "love" Mietinen but since its Eklund (which I have added to the thread title) I now have to give up any hope that it will happen.

Curse you flames14, curse you!

If we sign him, he will become the Flames fan's new whipping boy. Sutter should look at him as a defensive liability, and he wouldnt even boost the offence that much.

We dont want Dallas' garbage players.

Maybe he is worth a look. Also would help Kipper as he is Finnish and might make him more comfortable etc.

I looked at his stats and assumed he was another 3rd liner. I've never seen him play. How does a defensive liability who only scores 10 goals and 30 points play 70 games a year for an elite Dallas squad? That doesn't seem right.

That'd be sweet to get him inked, I've been pumping him up as a possible 50 point player the last few years.

Miettinen isn't at all a defensive liability.

He's a solid 2-way guy. Loves to hit on the forecheck too, which you don't really expect from a guy with his relative size.

Hmm, depending on the figures this might not be a bad move. Stick him on the second line with Boyd and Lombardi and we could have ourselves a decent two-way second line. With the way Sutters working right now, getting Glencross and Bourque, this would be the same type of move. Guys with some speed and some hustle. I wouldn't be surprised if we signed him in the next couple days.

Miettinen isn't bad. I don't think he's the ideal 2nd line guy but he is quite skilled for a guy that doesn't score a lot. I haven't seen much of him but he seems to me like a poor man's Jere Lehtinen: competent offensively and strong defensively.

On the stars board, they call him 'the Turnover Machine'.

Why would Sutter try to get rid of Eriksson, only to replace his defensive blunders with Miettinen's.

He is prone to making mistakes, he is inconsistent. Sutter has stated (indirectly) that Tanguay and Huselius are gone in part because they were inconsistent.

No Miettinen.
